Happy Summer Solstice! The Ordinary is just a scenic drive to all the beauty that Shenandoah National Parks has to offer!
People all over are celebrating the start of summer!
Today marks the summer solstice which is the first official day of the season. This means the sun shines longer and the season has begun! As the Earth’s tilt changes, our ever-growing days have hit their peak, and today we receive the most hours of sunlight throughout the year in the northern hemisphere. This is where the word solstice comes from; in Latin it translates to “sun standing still!”
Take advantage of all the extra daylight to do the outdoor recreation you love best! Lace up your hiking boots and hit the trails, grab your fishing rod and find a stream, or bring some friends and stop at a scenic overlook!
