It’s been over three weeks since Helene devastated Western NC. Fortunately suffered minimal damage. Like many of you, I’ve been overwhelmed deciding where to donate and how to help, preferring not to donate to large organizations where funds tend to go to high admin fees. I’ve decided to directly help our community of Barnardsville, NC, where many local families lost homes, cars, furniture, appliances, and valuables. I’ve teamed up with local volunteers to find the best way to help. We’re organizing and distributing totes with cleaning and hygiene supplies, blankets, etc. Next, we’ll collect Lowe’s and Walmart gift cards for families who lost homes or had damages to flood and mud. We’ll also provide Thanksgiving meals and an angel tree for specific families’ holiday needs. If you’ve been wanting to help but are unsure how, please message me for more information.
