We tried today and came up empty. Seems the stripers have moved south. We are officially done. We would like to thank everyone that joined us in 2024 on a fishing trip, sunset cruise, dolphin cruise or marine biology tour. We are only able to do this because of our customers. We will take a little time off and then start the process of getting the boat ready for 2025. Till then we wish you all a happy holiday season and happy new year. See you in May.

Meet the 4 Larson siblings who now own the MISS BARNEGAT LIGHT. Our parents Capt John and Marion Larson have both passed. As we all worked on the boat as teenagers, we will continue their tradition of a well run ship since it started in 1962. Captains Lenny and Lou and first mate Scott remain at the helm as we couldn't do it without them.

Please send your comments on possible striped bass 2025 closures before December 10th, TOMORROW!

There is a chance that fisheries management will shut down NJ/NY striped bass fishery next fall. They are proposing during the month of November to not be able to TARGET or KEEP striped bass. The Miss Barnegat Light is NOT in-favor of a change in regulations. We sent our emails and ask you to let them know your thoughts on the matter.

Took a ride today and it was not great fishing by the time we got there. Had a handful of drifts where we had a few fish and then the schools broke apart. Picked a couple fish after that.

We will NOT be fishing tomorrow. We will be fishing next Saturday and Sunday ONLY.

Picked at mostly bonus fish and keepers. Almost everyone had a bonus fish. The fish were scattered out and you’d get a few fish on as we started most of the drifts. Some had multiple fish, some had a few and some had none. Back out tomorrow not many days left so get it while the getting is good.

Sailed with a small crowd but they all went home with BIG smiles and LIMITS! Sailing Saturday Sunday and Monday. 7am departure.

Back at it in the morning. It’s going to be windy and a bit chilly but the bass are still here. Fishing Friday Saturday Sunday and Monday this week. Bring the jigs. 7am departure each day.

Slower day today. About half the boat had a bonus fish and a handful of keepers.
That’s the bad news. The
Good news is we read fish from outside our inlet to Ortley Beach. These fish seemed to be feeding at night on bunker based on multiple reports. They might just have been too full for another bite.
This coming weekend we’re are still sailing 7am Friday Saturday Sunday and Monday.

Good day of striper fishing. Wasn’t the crazy bite we had the last three days but still really good fishing. Had them very good to start and then they settled into a pick every drift. High hook had over 20 and we had a good amount of keepers with about half the boat getting their bonus fish as well. Lots of over 31 inch fish to about 20 pounds.

There are plenty of fish around in a few areas with likely more fish making their way south into our neighborhood. So we are sailing Friday through Monday next weekend as well as tomorrow. Will be week to week from here on. You want to keep fishing we will keep going.

Very good day of striper fishing. More overs but a lot of limits with everyone having something to take home. Seems the early bite is best as they are filling up on sand eels.

ANOTHER GREAT DAY OF STRIPER FISHING! Limits by 10 and then release mode. Mows the time lots of fish gorging on sand eels so the Diamond jigs are killing it. Lights will be on at 530am, coffee brewing and we set out at 7 am.

GREAT DAY FOR THE STRIPERS! High hook was 87 fish (ORL). Read that again. It was all on Run Off Diamond Jigs. Turn the handle Randle!!!



Everyone had their limit and we were back in a little early. Lights on through Monday at 530 am.
