Come on in to the Omni Mountain Washington Hotel and Resort. At 4:30pm tonight I will present on the Birds of Bretton Woods. Tomorrow at 10am I will lead a guided birdwatching tour at the ski resort. You do not need to be a guest to partake.

I hike in the White Mountains a lot ... over 1,600 miles since 2013. I have rarely glimpsed small mammals and the just a flash. Recently I was gifted views and able to photo this Red-backed Vole.

This past weekend, the Haystack Notch trail led me through the territory of the Barred Owl. The owl hooted loudly at me a few times and flew to different perches above me. I concluded, the owl was messaging that I was too close, ... so I moved on.
