This video is the initial fireup on the 1913 Excelsior 61ci twin model 7C after a complete engine rebuild. I had a couple of short " almost starts " before this while it was getting fuel into the engine and oil worked around. Carburetor settings were amazingly pretty close. The clutch on the left grip gets gradually engaged while pedaling to start turning the engine over. Then rotating the right throttle control drops the compression relief on the exhaust valves to build compression and fire up. I was so focused on making sure the motor sounds were correct that I forgot to disengage the clutch after startup. The rear wheel should freewheel to a gradual stop to take the machine off the stand and be ready to ride.
