The Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce was excited to partner with Genesis Pathways to Success for last Friday's D.I.C.E. Challenge. The Chamber realizes the importance of entrepreneurs and how they play a crucial role in today’s business world, and this challenge provides young visionaries with an incredible opportunity to get a head start on their dreams of owning a business.

Young entrepreneurs truly represent the future, and the D.I.C.E. Challenge showcased just how bright that future is! Through innovative thinking, collaboration, and creativity, these talented students brought their business ideas to life, proving that big dreams can start small. We are inspired by their passion and vision, and excited to see how they’ll shape the business landscape in years to come.

Much like the hit television series Shark Tank, the D.I.C.E. (Dreams, Ingenuity, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship) Challenge is a regional competition designed to ignite the entrepreneurial spirit. High school students are tasked with creating a business product or service, developing a comprehensive business plan, and pitching their ideas to a panel of seasoned entrepreneurs. After evaluation and ranking, the top three teams receive funding to support their business endeavors.

Congratulations to the 2024 D.I.C.E. Challenge winners:

Samantha Airgood & Kaylee Sarley from Lawrenceburg High School for winning this competition with their idea of Bites, a bite-sized cookie company. They received $3,000 to further expand their business goals! 🍪🏆

Aiden Sirk from Lawrenceburg High School for being the second place recipient of $2,000 for his idea of Sirk Tutoring, peer-to-peer, affordable, quality tutoring. 📖

Sophia Sullivan from Jac-Cen-Del Community School Corporation was the third-place winner of $1,000 with the idea of Educational Social Solutions, a social media solutions company for K-12 schools. 📱

BSCS Speech Class is looking for Community Volunteers!

Community Volunteers Needed!

Help Batesville High School speech students showcase their persuasive skills by stepping into the role of an imaginary board of directors. Students will present on behalf of a nonprofit they are representing and your feedback will make this experience realistic and impactful.

As a volunteer, you will:

•Attend the presentations.
•Provide constructive feedback.
•Ask questions and engage with the students.
•Help choose an overall winner.

We are seeking adult volunteers who can commit to all three dates within a chosen class period. Each series requires three volunteers. The options are:

M-W-F (December 9, 11, 13) from 8:00 to 9:30 AM.
T-Th-M (December 10, 12, 16) from 1:20 to 2:50 PM.

Partial availability will also be considered!
