Afternoon fishing in August. I get asked all the time if the morning tides are better than the afternoon. I can tell a lot of people are skeptical when I say they are both good. That’s why we fish the tide times not a static time of day. The largest came in at 47” and one had a little run in with a shark.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone 🦃🍽 The big turkey on the left may not have been the longest fish of the year but it was probably the heaviest one. For reference the “small” one on the right is 30”

A few gator blues made their way up the coast this year. Right before they left they went on a tear and cost me about 2 dozen hooks in one day. The surprising part is after the first half dozen we were using wire the rest of the day. They were so aggressive the others were biting the swivels and breaking us off.

An epic afternoon capped off with a 42” that had a run in with a prop from the looks of it, and one of the fattest fish I’ve ever seen. A few over slots and many slot fish that we let all swim away to be caught again someday.

catches the big one every time. Last year he got a 39” on the first cast. This year he let mom get a 40” striper out of the way so he could land this 45” monster 2 minutes later.

Yesterday had the season’s first double trip day with lots of action off and inshore. Ground fishing has been great all week and the stripers seem to be in the river in decent numbers for this time of year. Good times had by all. 🎣
