🌐Ride Rides First — Festival Booths inside World Showcase do not open until 11:00am. Use this time to knock out favorite attractions like Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Frozen Ever After, Test Track and Soarin before heading to wine and dine.

🌐Prepare for Messes — whether you’re grabbing extra napkins or have packed your own wet wipes, you can never be too prepared for the chaos that can happen when eating outside.

🌐Buy Gift Cards — if you want to keep track of how much you’re spending, purchase a Disney Gift Card within your comfort zone. If you stay under budget, you can use the remaining balance in gift shops and dining locations all over property. If you go over your budget, you can always reload it.

If watching fireworks is on your must-do list, you’ll want to know these tips & tricks for your upcoming vacation!

💥 Prepare Kiddos Ahead of Time
Fireworks can be loud and intimidating for littles — especially if they’ve never experienced them before! Consider watching Disney’s Firework displays together on YouTube before your trip so they know what to expect.

🏖️ Take a GOOD Midday Break
Whether you decide to go back to your resort, savor a dining reservation, or watching Disney’s indoor shows back-to-back, it’s important to get some rest in before you tackle fireworks late in the evening.

😴 Change Kiddos Into Their Pajamas
I have to admit, I didn’t come up with this trick, but I love it! Before you watch the fireworks, change the kiddos into their pajamas! That way if they fall asleep on the way back to your resort, all you have to do is snuggle them in bed! (Thanks Laura for the tip!)

🧩 Play Games
While waiting for the fireworks to start, have a few non-card games up your sleeve to help pass the time; like, Charades, 10 Questions to “Guess the Disney Character” and I Spy.

🌟Pack Light-up Toys or Glow Sticks
This doubles as a money-saving tip! Before your vacation, head to your favorite store to grab inexpensive glow sticks and light-up toys. They’ll provide entertainment before the fireworks begin all the way through the ride back to your resort… if your little one is still awake.

🥨 Grab a snack
Would it even be a tips & trick list from me if I didn’t include a snack tip!? After you’ve secured your firework viewing spot, send someone out to grab some fun eats while you wait! Favorite snacks include:
•Dole Whip from Aloha Isle
•Citrus Swirl from Sunshine Tree Terrace
•Custom Popcorn from the Main Street Confectionary
•Ice Cream from the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor
•Mickey Pretzel with Cheese Sauce from The •Lunching Pad
•Funnel Cake with Strawberries & Powdered Sugar from Sleepy Hallow

🧻 Go Potty Ahead of Time
Oof, there’s nothing worse than 2-minutes before fireworks start for your little one to say they have to go potty. Take care of business beforehand so you’re not scrambling through the crowds to find the nearest bathroom.

🎢 Have a Backup Plan
If your little one decides they aren’t enjoying the fireworks as much as you thought they would, consider ducking into a nearby gift shop or ride line to escape the fireworks until they’re over.

⏰ Wait to Leave Magic Kingdom
Everyone makes a mad dash to leave Magic Kingdom right after the fireworks finish — don’t do this! Enjoy rides with lower waits, leisurely stroll through the gift shops, grab another snack… do all the things except fight the crowds to get back home for the night.

😘 Don’t Miss the “Kiss Goodnight”
The “Kiss Goodnight” is a little magical moment at Cinderella Castle about 30-minutes after the park closes. It’s Disney’s way of gently inviting you to exit the park and head back “home”. It’s just a sweet moment to top off a magical day at Walt Disney World that not many guests know about — but now you do!

One of the most common questions I get asked about Walt Disney World is “what should I bring in the parks?"

These are the 6 essential items I *never* go to Disney Parks without and I think you shouldn't either!

📱 Portable Phone Charger ✨
I really like the one from Anker because I can charge multiple devices at once! And it usually holds its charge the whole trip before needing to be recharged!

💧 Reusable Water Bottle ✨
Did you know you can get free ice water from quick-service locations around the parks! Bring electrolyte or flavored water packets with you as an added incentive to drink more water throughout the day!

🥵 Rechargeable Fan ✨
This is a MUST! I love this one because it's so small and fits easily down in my f***y pack. Plus it's rechargeable! Neck fans and misting fans are popular too. Find one that works for you and make sure that thing is fully charged each morning!

🌧️ Rain Gear ✨
Regardless of when you're headed to Disney World, you're going to NEED rain gear! Whether you prefer ponchos, umbrellas or rain jackets, whatever you do, just don't be caught without some kind of rain gear!

🎀 Minnie Mouse Ears ✨
This may not be an "essential" for everyone, but you can't deny they're so cute!

🏰 MagicBand ✨
This is a non-negotiable for me. MagicBands act as your room key, park ticket, Genie+ pass, PhotoPass card, your payment method... basically they do EVERYTHING you need at Walt Disney World. Yes, you can use a physical ticket or MagicMobile, but they're nowhere near as convenient as MagicBands. Trust me.

*BONUS* I also never go to the parks without some kind of snack in my bag. Nuts, beef jerky, and cracker sandwiches are my go-to's >>> just never 🍫 because nobody wants to reach in their bag to find melted candy.

3 Tips for Traveling to Disney with Toddlers! 🏰🤩🥰

Aside from making sure there is enough storage on your phone for taking all the pictures, these 3 tips will help you have a magical trip with your toddler!

⭐️Let them lead
⭐️Pack lots of snacks
⭐️Schedule a character meal

Tip 1: So much of Disney involves jumping from one line to the next. Toddlers need time to just run around and get their energy out. Make room in your schedule to take advantage of Disney’s playgrounds and open-play areas. Trust me, allowing them to take the lead in here can make a world of difference to your Disney day.

Toddler favorite areas include
🎈The indoor playground at Dumbo in Magic Kingdom
🎈The Seas Aquarium at Epcot
🎈The Boneyard playground at Animal Kingdom
🎈Disney Jr. Dance & Play area at Hollywood Studios

Tip 2: Disney allows you to bring your own snacks and drinks into the parks. Load your park bag or stroller down with your toddler’s favorites to distribute throughout the day. Not only will this help calm a hungry kiddo but it will save your wallet too! Bonus tip: Don’t forget to pack snacks for you!

Tip 3: Lines at character meet-and-greet spots are some of the longest throughout the parks and are often the quickest lightning lanes to book up. When you make reservations at character meals you’re maximizing your time by getting to enjoy a meal and interact with characters instead of waiting in line just to meet them!

One of the things I think everyone loves at Walt Disney World right now are the new character interactions! These unscheduled “mini parades” happen frequently throughout the day at all four theme parks! 👑💗🤩 We ran across this Disney Princess Processional three times during our day in Epcot! I loved that we didn’t have to schedule our day around parade time and could enjoy them at our pace multiple times throughout our day! My Disney Background

I enjoyed Disney so much growing up that I enrolled in the Disney College Program. I was placed at the Grand Floridian Resort where I became a trainer and even won awards for my customer service. I spent my time learning the different resorts on Disney World property and gained even more magical knowledge along the way. Had my husband not dragged me away, I'd still be there today! We now have a one year old and can see her love for Disney growing already. Even though I no longer work in the parks, I enjoy staying on top of all things Disney. Having worked at the most magical place on earth I have the insider knowledge and know-how to help you plan your unique trip.
