I’m on the conference call with Cedric Richmond(D-LA):
•that $1200 stimulus payment will only be ‘confiscated’ by the gov’t if you owe child support....so if u owe ‘them ppl’ and it’s documented that u owe, that payment will ‘go towards’ your child support debt.

If you owe on student loans, back taxes, etc....they will NOT confiscate your stimulus check...

•if you have a 401k retirement plan....and u have covid19 related expense, u can make an early withdrawal without penalty....make sure to discuss with your retirement plan provider about the details/requirements (my summary)

•if you’re a business/non-profit...go to your banker/bank and ask do they participate in the Paycheck/Payroll Protection Act and if so can you apply through that bank...(talk to the bank about the details, including the forgiveness of the loan)

•make sure to check the details about evictions

•make sure to check with your mortgage holder about ‘mortgage freezes’, don’t assume that they’ll automatically do it....give your mortgage lender a call ASAP.

•unemployment insurance (expansion) benefits have been approved/money is now available. So if u tried filing before and got denied, try again. $600 has been added to what is currently offered per week until the end of 7/20. So for instance Louisiana range is $10-$249/$279 a week and if u are eligible, you’d get $610-$849/$879 a week under this pkg (until 7/20...based on rules).
