Meet Lacumba III – the newest addition to BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo! 🐆

Southern University students, alumni, and officials gathered today for Southern University Day at the Zoo, welcoming Lacumba III to her new home. This partnership strengthens Southern’s long-standing connection to the jaguar, the university’s beloved mascot, while also celebrating conservation and education.

To mark the occasion, Southern students, alumni, and faculty can enjoy $3 discounted admission with a valid Southern ID until 5 p.m. today.
