Qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent, and at least 2 years of related work experience. Proficiency with Microsoft 365, strong written and verbal communication skills, and advanced knowledge of administrative and general office practices and procedures. See job description for a complete list of job duties and qualifications. Salary range $4,008 - $5,371 per month depending on experience.

Several people have noticed that the contractor connected our new signs yesterday - yeah!
Unfortunately we are experiencing connectivity issues and cannot yet change the face of the signs. They are working on the issue, and we hope for a solution soon.
Until then, no reason to fear: "watchfire" is the name of the company that manufactured the display. This will soon change.

It's time once again to honor citizen volunteer service that typifies the Bay City community spirit.
The John Gettman Award is an acknowledgement of community service. It represents a caring concern for our community through volunteered time, services and contributions to the City and organizations operating in the City, a high standard set by John’s decades of service.
Nominations are being accepted at City Hall. Please outline how the nominee’s service reflects well on the City, promotes a more enjoyable experience in the City and enhances our community. The award will be presented as a part of the State of the City event this spring.

On January 9, 2024, the City Council of Bay City unanimously appointed Liane Welch to fill the position of Mayor until the end of the term, i.e. December 31, 2024. The position was vacated when David McCall stepped down to accept a position with the City in July 2024. Since that time, Council President Kathleen Baker had been filling in as Interim Mayor.
“It has been an honor to serve the City in this capacity, and I intend to continue serving on City Council, but I feel the City would be better served with a Mayor who has more time to dedicate to representing the City,” said Interim Mayor Kathleen Baker. “I am pleased that Liane applied for this position, and I fully support her as our new Mayor.”
“My husband and I have lived in Bay City for 17 years, and I love this City,” said new Mayor Liane Welch. “Now that I am retired, I have more time, and I want to give back to the community in this way. I am looking forward to serving the community in this new role.”
Welch previously was elected to City Council, before resigning to be City Manager until her retirement in July 2024.

Join us December 16th for the Bay City Porch Parade. There will be a car and house decorating contest, along with a light parade through town followed by hot cocoa at the Bay City Fire Department. At the City Council meeting last night, resident Helen Wright presented a signed copy of the Pearl and Oyster music festival poster to the council. Helen was the chair of the Pearl festival committee for 2023 and we would like to thank her for her hard work, along with the rest of the committee.

Traffic is being detoured through Bay City due to an accident on Hwy 101. Drivers please watch for pedestrians and obey traffic laws. Citizens please use caution as traffic will be heavy through town until the highway reopens. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all involved in the accident.

Main Street paving between 9th and 13th Street will begin on Monday July 17, 2023.
16th Street and 14th Street between Spruce and Williams will begin on Tuesday July 18, 2023. Please see the attached information sheet.

"I was fighting some fires where there was fire on three side of me, and over the top of me, and that’s quite an adrenaline rush.” “I would encourage anyone to join. The training is free, including becoming an EMS or an EMT. It’s weekly training and it really helps you become a better person for your community.
