My goal while out on the water is to have the best experience. I'll bust tail to put us on fish and have a great day on Lake Huron or Lake Michigan.

Walleye Fishing Saginaw Bay aboard the Rock ‘N’ Reel with me, Captain Scott DeVuyst, is bound to be an enjoyable day on the water! Walleye fishing on Saginaw Bay is at its peak and limit catches are more the rule than the exception. I grew up fishing with both of my grandfathers on inland lakes in Canada. Over time, I have continued to spend countless hours (days) on the water and enjoy every mome

nt of it. Over the last several years, I have focused my efforts on Saginaw Bay, catching the bountiful supply of walleye. The Rock ‘N’ Reel 2.0 is a 30′ Hydrasports VX fiberglass boat powered by twin 250hp Yamaha four stroke outboards- offering one of the quietest (and yes fastest) rides out to the best fishing locations. Hydrasport boats have a Kevlar reinforced hull and built for the tough offshore fishing trips in the Atlantic Ocean. The Rock ‘N’ Reel 2.0 handles the Saginaw Bay with ease, with all of the safety features that are required by the US Coast Guard and the DNR. It is equipped with the latest Raymarine electronics and safety gear. For the convenience of the family, there are private restroom facilities aboard.

A little update on our pumpkins. “Hoss” is rockin it and “Little Joe” is carrying his weight like he has been drinking “ Bud Heavy.” Fun to watch them grow. Never thought that we would get them this far along.

The 3rd rock is off to a great start. A 17 # Brown might be the best trophy all year. A great afternoon trip with a lot of action. Let’s hope that it stands as the biggest brown in the Ludington Bonanza!

More good times on the 2.0 this weekend. Some witness protection folks, but still a lot of fish! Meet the Miller’s- a surprise to the kids and they put a hurting on many of species. Another great trip!

I got a bit behind on posting pics and don’t have a few on my phone, but great times on the 2.0. Many of fathers and their families making memories. It’s not all about catching, but we work hard at making that happen! Even had a scribe start to chart out the catch details….thank you all for joining me on the RNR 2.0!

Friday the 3rd Rock was in the Tight Lines for Troops event in Ludington. Thanks to Captain Russ Soper for taking them out. A mixed bag with a 20 # king in the mix. A great event and proud to support those who served.

Today started off a blazing! Had 5 in the boat before we had one side completely set. We were well on our way to 32 but the wind changed and slowed the bite. Nick and crew still stacked them up! Some new faces on the 2.0 this weekend, it was a lot of fun “hooking up”! Off to a great start for 2024.

We started off a tad slow, but this crew hung in there. The clicker was punched at 40, but only hung 39. Fun day with a solid crew. Thanks for fishing with me on the 2.0! Got home and made another batch of “Shooters” Fish Fry Mix….IYKYK- it is really good! Trying to do a better job of it sharing with those who fish with me….

The 3rd Rock took a long adventure from Bay City to Ludington this weekend- a memorable trip for Captain Scott, his daughter (Shelby) , & son-in-law (Captain Zak). We had sunshine, fog, and rain, and saw barges, lighthouses, fish, birds, and the Mackinac Bridge from below 😎
The 3rd Rock is docked and ready to start slaying salmon this summer!

For the last couple of years I have donated a trip on the 2.0 for The Michigan FFA fundraising raffle. The 2023 winner was Mackenzie Blair and we had to postpone their trip due to weather. Their patience was rewarded in spades (or should we say walleyes)! It was a great day! The FFA is building tomorrows leaders- proud to support this organization.

The dry dock inspection is done and waiting for a DNR dockside inspection before we send it over to Ludington. Working on the little things to make the 3rd Rock a great salmon boat. Many thanks to friends that have helped out in getting it ready to go.
