Some great news for LBIfoodies. The iconic Uncle Wills has changed hands in a very positive way. Mark Cohen, co-founder and former owner of the massively successful The Chicken Or The Egg has acquired Uncle Wills.
Mark said to LBIFoodies: “We are excited to carry on the great tradition of Uncle Will’s. We are proud to have been on a very short list of caretakers of this iconic LBI eatery. Our guests can expect the same friendly faces, fast service, the same great pancakes, eggs, and everything else that Will’s has become famous for!”
We thank everyone for keeping an amazing LBI tradition-- the pig must be smiling along with all LBI Foodies.

chowderfest renamed...

The Beach Haven Chowder Cook-Off will be reminiscent of former LBI chowder events! How? We’re bringing the 2-day format back! ⤵️

🛍️Merchant’s Mart (Saturday, 10/5)🛍️
This event is free for all and will feature local vendors and artists! Attendees are invited to enjoy food, shopping and live music from 10am-5pm.

🍴Clam Chowder Cook-Off Tasting (Sunday, 10/6)🍴
Ten local restaurants will compete for the best chowder at this ticketed cook-off classic! From 11am-4pm, guests will taste and vote on their favorite red and white chowders.

🎟️Tickets for the tasting will be available for purchase beginning July 4th.

Some info on our new Beach Taxi service:

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE SERVICE?

Any physically challenged individual staying at a Beach Haven (12th Street to Nelson Ave. only) address.
Children 5yrs. old or younger are prohibited from riding in the Taxi.
HOW CAN I SCHEDULE A PICK-UP OR DROP-OFF?

Reservations must be made by 12am on the day that you would like to use the service. Reservations are scheduled online.
Appointments are made on a first come, first served basis.
If you need to cancel your appointment same day please call #609-389-0732. To cancel any other time, please use the scheduling site.
If you need assistance scheduling an appointment, call the Clerk’s office, from Mon-Fri, between 9am and 4pm, 609-492-0111 x210.
HOW WILL PICK-UP WORK?

Patrons will be picked up at their Beach Haven address. Please be patient, we have one Taxi traveling all of Beach Haven.
Taxi accessible beaches include: Taylor Avenue, Centre St., Holyoke Ave., Nelson Ave. These are the only beaches available for drop-off under this program.
Taxi crew members cannot load or unload beach equipment or transfer patrons in and out of the vehicle/chair. If additional assistance is needed, patrons should be accompanied by a caregiver.
Please be packed and ready at least 5 minutes before your scheduled time (at home and at the beach).
You may bring up to 3 family members.
You will schedule your time to be picked up and taken home, with the Taxi driver, when you are dropped off at the beach.
IS THIS SERVICE FREE?

Yes, it’s FREE, however, beach badges are required for all beach patrons that would normally require a badge.
WHAT HAPPENS IN BAD WEATHER?

In the event of a storm or inclement weather, patrons will be notified via their provided contact information and beach pick-up arranged.
Same day appointments may be canceled at the discretion of the Taxi driver, if the weather is questionable. You will be notified via your provided contact information.

It is with mixed emotions that we share that we have made the difficult decision to sell Calabria. We started working on the island in 1979 at Clemente’s in Ship Bottom and opened Calabria in 1987.
LBI has given us friends, family, and most importantly a lifetime of memories. We will hold Calabria and 19th street with fondness and love forever but our time has come to an end. We wish the new owners 35 years (or more) of success, memories and love just like we have been fortunate enough to receive. This is a goodbye to the customers but a see you later to our friends and to an island we have been blessed to call home for 35 years.

We are so happy to see where Joe Pop’s has come from and where we plan for it to go. NO we will not be knocking it down and NO we will not be changing the name!
