It's the spookiest time of the year! We will again be volunteering our tour guides to help with C.A.P.A. so we will not be running our tours while they are running theirs. Please take one of these awesome tours. We would love to see y'all there supporting the kiddos. There are so many volunteers that give their all to bring the ghost stories to life.(Pun intended) Come on out and let them scare ya as they razzle dazzle ya. It's such a fun time and an amazing cause.

Testimonials

“The hospital sent me home, alone, after my mastectomy – but I needed oxygen that my insurance wouldn’t cover. DragonBoat Beaufort had it there waiting for me, and they stocked my refrigerator with meals. Thank you DBB.”
“I was in Charleston for 90 days last spring undergoing cancer treatment. This meant missing my Son’s senior baseball season. DragonBoat Beaufort sent someone to every game – and they cheered him on and always took him a homemade sandwich. Thank you DBB.”
“The hospital sent me home after they did what they could for my stomach cancer. My home didn’t have a working toilet. DragonBoat Beaufort had a plumber there the day I got home. Thank you DBB.”

And there are so many more comments like this on their website. Thank y'all in advance.

Welcome to my page! I am a mother of three and a tour guide. This cause is important to me to help fund services to make cancer patients lives a little easier. Knowing they can get to their appoint…

In honor of Black History Month, we are sharing the history of some of Beaufort's landmark African-American institutions.

Berean Presbyterian Church / J.I. Washington Branch Library
602 Carteret St.

Samuel J. Bampfield, an influential African-American political figure during Reconstruction, was the founder of Berean Presbyterian Church. He served as postmaster, clerk of the Beaufort County court, and a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives.

The congregation purchased this lot in 1892 and built a Gothic Revival style church. Solomon P. Hood, a future U.S. Minister to Liberia, was appointed as its first pastor.

The Beaufort Township Library purchased the building in 1931 and used it as a segregated library for African Americans. After the desegregation of the Township Library, the segregated branch closed. Later, the Neighborhood Youth Corps used the building as its headquarters. USC-Beaufort purchased the site in 1993 for use as an art studio.

This information comes from African American Heritage Sites Across the Low Country, from SC Lowcountry Tourism Commission.

Our Story

Charlotte Lawrence is the main guide for tales of the Lowcountry. Her family has been in the Beaufort Area for several generations. She has been a tour guide of down town Beaufort for a little over thirteen years. She brings her love of her home town and roots to every single tour.

Andrea Rodrieguez has been a tour guide of Beaufort for over seven years. She moved her as a teenager after her father was stationed in the area. She brings a unique view to Beaufort from the perspective of a “military brat”. She ended up loving Beaufort so much that she stayed after completing highschool.

Historical tours- We offer 1.5 and 2 hour walking and van tours jam packed with over 500 years of history, folktales, and hollywood lore surrounding our beloved Beaufort by the sea. Ghost Tours-We visit all the local "haunts" intertwining ghost tales with the history of Beaufort. Come hear tales of folks buried alive, ghost trains, Pirates, voo doo, and so much more . We also attempt to capture E.V.P.s while the tour is in progress.

In every tour we attempt to capture the romance, adventure, and humanity that is the history of Beaufort.
