The streets of Victorian England come to life as Oliver Twist, a malnourished orphan in a workhouse, becomes the neglected apprentice of an undertaker. This charming story is a testament to the power of hope in the face of adversity. 💫

Oliver! Jr. opens at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School's MainStage next Friday.

WE DID IT!
The Irish-Townsend House is now listed on the NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES!

The National Register of Historic Places is the official list of the Nation's historic places worthy of preservation. Authorized by the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, the National Park Service's National Register of Historic Places is part of a national program to coordinate and support public and private efforts to identify, evaluate, and protect America's historic and archeological resources.

Weekly List October 25, 2024

PENNSYLVANIA, BEAVER COUNTY,
Irish-Townsend House,
1229 7th Avenue,
New Brighton, SG100010922,
LISTED, 10/25/2024

What’s the benefit?
Listing in the National Register is the first step towards eligibility for National Park Service-administered federal preservation tax credits that have leveraged more than $45 billion in private investment and National Park Service grant programs like Save America's Treasures and Preserve America.

What’s Next?
Back to work. We have started the renovation on the rear entrance and bay window. Already, five courses of bricks have been re-laid and the bay windows have been stripped and reglazed with age-appropriate glass. The next steps are to raise the foundation, insulate and put on new cedar siding. The last step will be to put on the corbels and rebuild the box gutters. All before the snow flies!

Fundraising
We are still waiting on approval for a LSA grant. This is Pennsylvania’s Local Share Account funds from gambling revenue. Word is expected in November. With this grant we will be able to install heating, air conditioning, and rough plumbing.

Now with being listed on the National Register we will begin searching and applying for funds outside of Pennsylvania.

Wish us luck.
