Sorry for the late post, I meant to get this up last week...but you all know how last week went for me.

Q***r Romance book club will be held at Revel + Gather located at 4625 SW Washington Ave, Beaverton. It's an adorable little yellow house on Washington between 1st and 2nd.

There is parking behind the building or on the street. Plus, the library lot is a block and a half away.

See you all there at 6:30!

I thought this was an appropriate meme for today, the day we hand over the keys for the Downtown Beaverton location of Jan's.

At this store we share love, belonging, and happiness. We don't shy away from the hard talks, but we don't let it rule our hearts.

By doing that we've created a community that has supported us through 43 years that included several recessions, a global pandemic, a car through the front of the Aloha location and now a 2nd move.

Now we use this experience to find the perfect spot for Jan's to move to and be the best it can be! Here's to the new home for Jan's showing up soon!

Update on timeline! We'll be here boxing til about 6 tonight (Monday)

Tuesday I need to run some errands in the morning, so we won't start till 11am. and then we'll go until finished, but I think we'll be finished around 3 or 4.

Wednesday, the sign comes down at 8am and we'll be doing some small shifting of items until about Noon.

If you're wondering how you're going to still support Jan's while we find our next fabulous location, here's a little breakdown of all the ways you can still shop with us!

If you want to browse in person, Jan's will be set up at Arcade Book Exchange starting September 3rd! If you want to browse what new books we have on hand, head on over to our website, JansPaperbacks.com, where we have it all up and ready for you to order!

Want to order new or used books? Email, Call, or message us through social media. We'll tell you if we have the books you're looking for or if we need to order them!

Want a book that isn't released yet? Just send us a message and we'll get it on our pre-order list!

We've got online shop with Libro.fm and Bookshop.org for those that like audiobooks or want to shop the full selection that we have access to! If you can order it on bookshop.org, I can get a copy! You can order through them or direct through me! Links in bio for both of these!

And, of course, I'll be planning pop-ups with my friends down here in Downtown, so you'll still be able to find me. Just keep an eye out for my schedule. I'll post it once we get settled into a routine.

This is it. The last day to browse at the Downtown Beaverton location!

Packing begins tomorrow, Monday the 26th at 10am. We'll be packing all day. Depending on how it goes, we will probably going into the evening. I'll post in the afternoon if it looks like we'll be ending earlier than expected. The phone will also be up and running, so feel free to call.

Wednesday morning at 8am the sign is scheduled to come down. Anyone that wants to join, please feel free to come down! We're going to look at it as a celebration of amazing journeys to come. To move forward we have to do the hard things...

We've made it over halfway! I'm in awe of you all and how much you've done. With what we've gotten through the GFM I feel comfortable knowing I can put first/last down when I find a new spot for us. I've paid for the sign removal and storage through the end of the year and can cover moving! On top of that, we've also got a ton of places to look at, so I have confidence when the right spot shows up we're gonna have eyes on it first! If you've been in the store, you've seen the amount of boxes that everyone has come through with! When it comes time to packing and moving, I am imagining it's gonna be a snap when everyone shows up. (We all know moving is never a snap, but let me live in my delusions). The big things now are if we need to do any renovations on the new place. I'm hoping we find a spot that is so perfect for us we don't need to do anything!... Again, let me have my delusions. Going in to the last week open is bittersweet. I'm just working on reminding myself that we are gonna to come out the other side of this in such a better position that it will all be worth it. #savejans #shoplocal #indiebookstore

Hi everyone! It's time to update you all on the situation at Jan's. It is with an extremely heavy heart that I say...if we want Jan's to live on, we need to find a cheaper location. 6 years in Downtown Beaverton and we've been priced out. While the store continues to grow every year, so does rent and expenses. We're currently at $4k a month with rent increasing again in a couple months. We're putting notice in on the 1st that we will vacate by the end of August. So we need to find a space ASAP. Either that or we move into storage and run pop-ups until we find a spot. What we need most right now is everyone looking when they are out and about for a new space. If you see something send it over and we'll check it out! We need everyone's help to figure this out and move forward. #savejans #indiebookstore #shoplocal

It doesn't look like this came over from the IG post. No way I want you guys to miss out. This is what happened on Sunday. We got a couple different angles of it, so I'll post another one after this. But the quote of the week is definitely, "Are you seeing this too?"

I think these awards are adorable...completely random, but adorable. I've done WAY more than 100 designs in Canva since I started using it 4 years ago, but hey, it's purple.

Did you know we sell records? That's right. And a great gift idea for anyone that collects or has a player. Chances of duplication is low!
