Cathy Pinsky has been a photographer for more than 20 years. Her
career started in the advertising and still life world, moved into fashion and has settled in Westchester County, founding Pinsky Studio - a full service photo studio providing elegant photography to both families and business in the Tri State area. "I believe there is something photographic about everyone - it's a matter of helping their true nature shine through and capturing it." At the beginning of her career, Cathy spent two years assisting Stephen Hellerstein of Hellerstein Studios. At Hellerstein, Cathy had the opportunity to learn the art of lighting, working for such clients as Lancome Cosmetics, Bank of New York Giorgio Armani Perfumes and Sony Electronics. It was here that Cathy observed the "ins and outs" of running a photography business and where her entrepreneurial spirit got its legs. In the early 1990s, when the new media revolution was beginning to take shape, Cathy saw an opportunity, and a market, that was about to explode. In 1995 she founded a digital photography division within Image Info Inc., an established technology company that serviced the fashion industry. Providing business-to-business photography to Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Marc Bouwer, Ellen Tracy and Todd Oldham, Cathy grew the division into a multi-million dollar digital photography powerhouse, culminating in eight straight seasons as the official photographer for the New York 7th on Sixth Runway Shows in Bryant Park. In the late 1990's, Cathy became a partner with Image Info - just when the internet boom hit. Every "brick and mortar" store wanted their products up on the internet and Cathy's "image factory" was perfectly poised to handle photographing the hundreds and thousands of images that needed to get up onto the web. "They needed to be taken fast and they needed to look great!". Her client roster grew to include Fortunoff's, Bloomingdales.com, Macys.com and Bed Bath and Beyond. In early 2000, Cathy and her partners decided to sell Image Info to QRS, a technology company based out of California. One month before the sale of Image Info, Cathy gave birth to her first child - Jackson. Once she started taking photos of him, it wasn't long before friends and friends or friends started asking if she would take photos of their children. "It is such a wonderful experience to photograph a baby! To see the pure expression of this little person and be able to capture it - it's such a privilege when families ask me to photograph their children." In 2001 Cathy opened Pinsky Studio. What started out a photography business focused solely on children, has grown into a full service photo studio. Cathy does work for both business and families and if a regular contributor to Westchester Magazine, a local upscale magazine in Westchester County.
