I once had a dream. A dream of creating a beautiful space in the mountains to welcome families and friends to away from the busyness of life. A place where people could visit and enjoy an escape from everyday life and go to create lasting memories with each other.
The dream…a beautiful, well thought out house in the mountains. A house where every little detail would be intentional and executed to make for an enjoyable experience in the mountains of NC, not just for my family but for others.
So much thought, day-dreaming, planning, and creativity went in to this dream, and the most amazing part of it all was seeing it come to fruition and making this dream a reality. Lots of hard work, lots of time spent of Pinterest, lots and lots of painting. (Oh the never ending painting.) Having the vision and then seeing it through to ex*****on. I did it. We did it. It was no longer just a dream. It was The Beech House.
The funny thing about dreams, however, is that once it becomes a reality it’s no longer just a dream. The reality of it makes way for a different and bigger dream to take its place. And that’s what The Beech House has become. The prompt for a new dream to take root.
After a series of events (and I tend to think, “divine prompting”) we made the bittersweet decision to sell The Beech House. She needed a little love, we gave it to her, and now she’s shining bright.
Our dream turned reality is a testament to myself that the power of vision, hard work, and determination is all that it takes. The passing of our creation on to the next dreamer, is a reminder that dreams are fluid and evolve as we grow. The legacy of The Beech House will continue on and we can only hope that it inspires and fosters new dreams for others to come.
And I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that I am excited, nervous, and already ready to see what the future has in store for us and watch our next dream take root…
