5,506' is accessible by chairlift, offering panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, a variety of lunch options, a full bar, and live music.

Beginning in June, they will offer lunch and live music every Saturday, followed by ticketed sunset dinner experience.

This is what you see when you first arrive on the property!
Since our vacation rental is a condo and not a stand-alone property, the entrance to our place is well... just a door 😂 (although, you can swipe to see our efforts to decorate our door!)
A big part of our decision to buy this property was because of the amenities that came along with it. First, we have an amazing location (less than a mile from SkiBeech and less than 20 mins from Sugar and Grandfather mountain).
The property has pretty incredible resort amenities including an indoor heated pool, 2 hot tubs, a sauna, small fitness room, games and several recreation areas. Feel like a game of mini golf, tennis, pickle ball?

I love that we get to offer all of this to our guests who stay with us!

The 45th Annual Woolly Worm Festival takes place October 15th and 16th, in Banner Elk North Carolina.

This celebration is like the winter version of Groundhog’s Day. The Woolly Worm is believed to predict the upcoming winter season, is it going to be snow-heavy or warm? Determined by a race of the worms, the last worm standing predicts the weather!

And you get to race!” The Woolly Worm races begin around 10:00 a.m. Each heat consists of 25 worms and races continue all day until the grand final around 4 p.m. The winning worm on Saturday is declared the official winter forecasting agent. The Sunday worm races are for prestige, fun and small prizes. Worm Races are limited so please arrive early to the festival and register your worms.”

Admission is $6 Cash/$7 Credit for Adults
Children (6-12) are $4 Cash/$5 Credit

Fall Colors Coming Soon! 🍂

We are definitely excited for the leaves to change! Every year, we get hundreds of visitors to the High Country just to drive through and experience the beauty of the autumn colors.

Leaves change at their own pace and depend on the weather to know when to turn, but there are some patterns figured out:

🍁Late September: The first foliage starts turning on the highest summits and rocky slopes like Rough Ridge hike.

🍁Early October: The highest elevations including the top half of Sugar Mountain, Grandfather Mountain and Linn Cove Viaduct area of the Blue Ridge Parkway have the most foliage color.

🍁Mid October: Most of the Blue Ridge Parkway in the area (see Parkway Scenic Loop) peaks – especially the Linville Falls area.

🍁Late October: The valleys and views from the Parkway into the valleys are the most vibrant areas of color and continue into early November.

Because of the popularity, places go fast! ‼️If you’re wanting to spend a weekend surrounded by reds, oranges, and yellows, and crisp fall weather, now is the time to book!

About us! We are your hosts, Chad and Janyne and we have 3 children, Quaid (23) Tory (21) and Kemery who is almost 10! Yes, we have a crazy dynamic in our house! 😂 We moved from Alberta Canada 🇨🇦 to south Florida 🇺🇸 3 years ago! Our 2 oldest kiddos remained in Canada to attend college. Our oldest, Quaid has since come to the US where he finished his civil engineering degree and is now employed in Nashville TN. Our daughter Tory remains in Canada finishing here degree there and of course, our youngest is with us enjoying all the things about living in Florida!

Chad’s background is in underground construction and it is his career that presented the opportunity for us to make the move to Florida.

I am a modern entrepreneur with an online social retail business for the past 8 years and my background is in Interior design and decorating.

After living near the Canadian Rockies for 22 years, and relocating to Florida, we decided we wanted a little piece of our mountain roots, we fell in love with Beech Mountain and area. Our family enjoys both skiing, snowboarding and mountain air so having a place in the mountains was important to us. When we discovered this little gem, near the ski slopes, incredible mountain view, so cozy and comfortable-we just knew it was the place we wanted to make a vacation home that we could share with others. Because we have such a deep connection to the mountains, we want others to get an opportunity to feel this serene, calm, and beauty of the mountains too. We love coffee and because we love coffee so much we think it is important that we provide our guests with different options for getting their caffeine fix!

Our kitchen comes equipped with a traditional 12 cup coffee pot and a Keurig. We supply a starter pack for both! Packed coffee grounds for a pot of coffee and 4 Keurig K-cups medium roast plus creamer and sugar packs! We want to be sure our guests can get a great start to their day!
