Sable Alley, a Natural Selection Lodge in Botswana, perched on the banks of a lily-covered lagoon is a rustic-chic spot to enjoy wildlife in Botswana! I’m especially excited because I’ve got clients heading there soon to celebrate a 60th birthday, and I couldn’t think of a better place!

What makes Sable Alley special? The incredible work they’re doing to support conservation, like leopard conservation in the Khwai Area and grass harvesting in Khwai Village for local benefits.

Want to Safari in this beautiful place-to-stay.

So, you're dreaming of a South African Safari? Kruger National Park is great of course, but there's some other gems to consider. Timbavati Private Nature Reserve? Hello, white lions! Madikwe Game Reserve? Malaria-free zone! Perfect for families.

One of my favorite experiences was hanging out with chimps in the wild. If you are itching to get here, then you need to head to the Mahale Mountains in Western Tanzania.

These amazing animals can be found here, living their best lives. Trek through the forest to find them with my favorite people from Greystoke Mahale, a unique place-to-stay. It will be like stepping into a real-life nature documentary - truly!

Okay, I faced my fear of heights, and plunged in the Devil's Pool, Victoria Falls, Zambia! I did it. The guides were amazing and weren't allowing my hesitation to stop me, instead telling me, 'Go, go, get in!' Next thing I know, I'm perched on the edge of the falls, following their instructions of 'posing' with my hand up. I don't know if I was laughing from fear or happiness. 😁 Terrifying but exhilarating! They even place your phone in a waterproof bag and film you from the edge - hence the photos. It was crazy, but I'm so glad I did it!

I know many of you have had this experience. Isn't it something wild? Can't wait for more of you to come share your stories of Devil's Pool.

Staying at Sungani Lodge in South Luangwa National Park during my recent Zambia trip was such a treat – from the yummy food (loved the smoked eggplant with stuffed spinach), their regular check-ins to the amazingly comfortable couch in my room - I can’t emphasize enough what a game-changer this couch was when it came to getting comfortable during downtime.

It’s a family-run camp and it really felt that way – everyone was involved. From Michael, who is a amazing photographer to Lynne and Jordan's attention to detail in the room to lounge. A must-stay. I can’t wait to share with my guests in the future!

African penguins!! These little tuxedo-wearing cuties can be found in South Africa and Namibia. They were once called "jackass penguins". Why? These little guys have a pretty unique call that sounds like the braying of a donkey. Viewing them is high on many a bucket list.

Want to see (and hear) these quirky birds for yourself? Let's get you to Africa!

Chiawa Camp in Lower Zambezi gets a huge thumbs up for its attention to detail! They have these amazing pop-up mirrors in the bathroom. So, if you're brushing your teeth and there's wildlife outside, you don't miss a thing! It's the little things that make a Safari experience truly special.

Ever snuggled up in your cozy bed or out in the deck sipping your morning tea or coffee where wildlife strolls by? This is from my time at Sungani Lodge in Zambia. The early morning on the last day when I got to enjoy the sunrise, slowly sipping my tea. Pure bliss!

That’s the magic of glamping on Safari… experiencing the wild while still being able to enjoy your creature comforts.

Let's find out what surprises awaits you on your glamping Safari.

One of my stops in Zambia was Anabezi Camp in Lower Zambezi National Park. The lodge is right by a water hole which means wildlife close by at all times. From the elephants keeping me company during meals to a, possibly imagined, leopard by my room.

And the proximity to the beautiful green, lush winter forest ... oh my amazing wildlife! More stories about this place coming up.

Lunch on a boat exploring the Zambezi River, fishing [almost caught something big as per my Safari guide Taps], walking, and night drives. A stay at Anabezi Camp is one for the books.

Let’s chat! I’d love to take you to Lower Zambezi, Zambia.

Introducing Lemala Kuria Hills Lodge – another go-to for a Serengeti Safari. It’s close to the Mara River (making it a ‘hot spot’ for game viewing during the Great Migration) and attracts wildlife year-round.

The lodge has 15 glass-fronted suites, a spa, a swimming pool – basically everything you could want or need, from essential creature comforts to well-deserved spoils!

World Tourism Day is a special one for me. It’s a time to be grateful for the connections I’ve made with my guests and so many within Africa’s Safari industry. What a gift it is to share the secrets of this one-of-a-kind continent with you. Like so many of my guests say: Africa is more than unforgettable – it’s life-changing.

Here’s to travel and tourism and the many experiences these magical spaces unlock!

Just look at that beauty! In my opinion, the leopard is one of the most striking African big cats – and it’s also one of the most elusive. That’s because these animals are solitary and nocturnal.

Most of the time, they’ll be catching a cat nap during the day, so it’s a real highlight if you’re lucky enough to spot one on Safari (pun intended).

Happy World Rhino Day!
If you get to see these endangered creates in the wild, you are one of the lucky ones. I had the privilege of spending a good time with these beauties in Sabi Sands Game Reserve when on Safari with Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve. These are the white rhinos.

The white rhino is the largest of the two, predominantly found in South Africa, and with around 20,000 individuals remaining in the wild. The black rhino, on the other hand, is critically endangered, with 5,000 individuals scattered throughout protected areas in eastern and southern Africa.

Journey to Africa Safaris and our partners support conservation initiatives whenever possible to protect these historic animals. Say no to horns.
