Our Story
Karrie Kishel-Roberts: Karrie is a dynamic and versatile dancer with professional credits and decades of experience as a dance educator/choreographer. She instructs students of all ages with compassion, excitement and precision. Karrie attended California University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Theatre/Dance. Since then she has danced professionally and has taught master classes at various studios, universities and organizations. Karrie has danced and performed in numerous musicals, ballets, shows and events. One of her favorite positions held was dance captain at Busch Gardens, Tampa, Florida. She has proudly received "best choreography" awards and her competitive students have received overall awards and performance/personality awards to name a few. Whether a dancer strives to dance professionally or simply for the enjoyment of dance, she loves to share her experience and love for the art. Karrie has trained with: - Robin Gribble - Houck Dance Studio - Dr. Richard Helldobler (California University of PA) - Donna Marovic (California University of PA) - Victor Litinov (Kiev Opera and Ballet Theater) - Soili Arvola - Leo Ahonen - Andrew Drost (Miami Ballet) - David Howard (Toledo Ballet) - Ken Nickel - Artists from Busch Gardens, Disney World, Carnival Cruise Lines, Royal Caribbean International Shirley Tatar Dean: Shirley has owned and operated her studio for over 40 years. She has put her heart and soul into her dance studio, focusing on the discipline of classical ballet. She loves teaching and has a unique gift for inspiring students to achieve their personal best...instilling self-confidence, self-respect, and values in all her students. She not only shapes dancers, but young adults, and Shirley takes great pains to do both with the utmost integrity. Her students have gone on to study/work professionally, and it begins with the fact that she teaches precise and clean classical technique from the beginning. Her students have gone on to perform with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Point Park College Dance Ensemble, Cal. Univ. of PA, Univ. of Akron, Kacamon Ballet Company, and the Governor's School for the Arts...just to name a few.
