Having been in business now for over 25 years we figured it would be great to start sharing some Thursday throwback pictures with you guys every week.

In this weeks “Throwback Thursday” pic features one of our own Victor Bjornsson. When we say Master Pull is a family business, we mean it. Victor started to get involved with the company at a very young age and is still here with us today. A lot of you guys are familiar with Victor’s wealth of information he provides within our community. He has been involved with almost every aspect of the company over the years. He’s a man of many hats and is extremely knowledgeable about all things recovery and running a successful business.

This photo was taken in 1996 when Master Pull first started. Emil (the owner and Victor’s father) loaded up his old Chevy Suburban with ropes and set up a booth at a local off-road swap meet to show people a new recovery tool: the Super Yanker Kinetic Rope.

We have been noticing lately in the off-road and overland communities that metal-less rigging systems, or what we call full synthetic rigging (FSR), are being marketed as something very new and innovative.

Master Pull has been making full synthetic rigging systems for the US Armed Forces for well over 20 years, so it is nothing new, well to us anyways. We began testing our Winch Puck about five years ago and it was brought to the consumer market a couple of years later.

In the pic you’re seeing an FSR mockup.  This system includes a winch line with a soft eye, our Winch Puck, as well as our Superline soft shackle. The Winch Puck’s main job is simply to allow the winch line to mount flush and tight against the hawse fairlead when not in use.

Our full synthetic rigging is not only extremely safe but very strong as well. It is also versatile: our soft eye winch lines can be used with soft shackles or steel shackles, can attach directly to open bumper tow hooks, and can attach directly to recovery bridles without the need for a shackle.

Why use a kinetic rope in a recovery situation? When recovering a stuck vehicle the Super Yanker stretches and absorbs enormous energy from the pulling vehicle. This energy is then transferred to the stuck vehicle, which then yanks the stuck vehicle free.

A kinetic rope is an essential piece of recovery gear to keep in your vehicle that can assist if you’re stuck in mud, sand, snow, etc. A kinetic rope is a simple yet effective tool you should definitely have in your recovery kit.

Our Super Yanker recovery rope is available in different diameters ranging from 9/16”-2” (14mm-44mm). These kinetic ropes are also available in 10’, 20’, and 30’ lengths.
