The saddest of news today: we lost the best intern we ever had.
RIP Buddy

Like most interns (& agents), Buddy preferred company travel to desk work. He also enjoyed the office Christmas parties - where one year it was all fun and games until he had too much to drink and ended up in bed with a co-worker.

There will never be another like him. Our hearts go out to his mom, Michelle, who loved him like a son and gave him a most pawsome life.

Traveling to, or through, the UK in the future? As of January 8th, 2025, you will be required to have an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) prior to travel. Without one, you will be denied boarding, including for flights just transiting through UK airports.

The application process is simple and can be done online at www.gov.uk or by downloading the UK ETA app on your phone from the App Store or Google Play. You will need to upload or take photos of your passport and your face and have a credit card to charge the fee of (about) $13.00 USD.

You will receive a confirmation of app completion and then should receive approval in about three business day. It is suggested that you print a copy to carry with you when traveling, as a backup to the electronic approval which will be digitally attached to your passport information. ETAs are valid for two years or until the expiration of your passport, whichever comes first.

Yes, please! The gifted chef at Hotel Leo kicked off our Sunny Portugal evening last year with these delicious pasteis de natas and told us their history which is as rich as the pastries.
Before the 18th century, the monks at Jeronimos Monastery in Lisbon founded this tasty use for egg yolks left over from starching clothes!
After the Hotel Leo introduction, our group sampled A LOT of these in the city of origin and all around Portugal. As food can be, this sampling was an integral part of their great time.
Can't wait to see what the chef cooks up for our upcoming Italy evening in January! Mangia, mangia, mangia.

For those of you who answered the question: escape or embrace the brr-ginning to look a lot like Christmas time with ESCAPE to a remote beach...

This island, Ile a Vache, is on the southwest side, and part of, the island of Haiti. Remote enough? And definitely far from the thought of Christmas. Picture was taken by my friend acting as crew on a sailboat making its annual delivery of food, supplies and help to the people there. He swears the photo is not "colorized" or retouched. I can sign you aboard.

It may look like heaven, but life there is pretty hellish, you watch the news. Makes me remember to be grateful for where I landed at birth - a happy accident to have it so much easier. Well, except for the "brrr" factor.
