One of our favorite views. What a glorious summer it's been here in the PNW.
We love the beautiful views we get out in the San Juan Islands!

The 2022 cruising season begins: Patos Island, just off Sucia. Early season means no crowds and available mooring balls. Patos features a lighthouse, just two mooring balls and a refreshing natural beauty.

End of the year sailing to south Puget Sound: Shilshole, Port Townsend, Gig Harbor, Poulsbo, Langley and back to Lopez Island. The cockpit panels kept us warm and dry in last week's weather.and 2021 was a record year for Interlude, and now it's time to dock and begin preparations for 2022 cruising: cleaning, repairing and replacing. Interlude moments/Summer 2019
Our 2019 charter guests say it best: "it was great!" Summer has arrived in the San Juan islands and it is glorious. A few weeks in August are still open; contact San Juan Sailing today for a 48-hour hold and assemble your crew!
In 2016, two couples from Western Washington discovered they shared a similar dream: to purchase a sailboat and join the charter fleet at San Juan Sailing (SJS) in Bellingham, Washington. We had both enjoyed multiple charter vacations with SJS and realized we both wanted to participate as owners. Over a few dinners, we decided we could purchase an extraordinary boat and manage it more successfully as a team. After extensive research and some great advice from SJS, we began the search for the perfect charter sailboat. We found it at the Seattle Boat Show in January 2017: a Beneteau Oceanis 41.1, on display with Signature Yachts of Seattle. It was love at first sight.
To complete our purchase and outfit Interlude for charter took about three months: San Juan Sailing’s requirements for their charter vessels are exacting. Whenever possible, we would sail Lake Union just to get more experience sailing our new boat. On Memorial Day weekend 2017, we departed Signature Yachts on Lake Union, traversed the Ballard Locks, and enjoyed a leisurely cruise to Bellingham with stops in Port Townsend, Roche Harbor, Stewart Island and Sucia Island. Bellingham has been Interlude’s port of call since June 2017 and we’ve enjoyed working with San Juan Sailing since then.
In addition to regular seasonal charters, Interlude is used as a instructional boat with San Juan Sailing’s School. As a thoughtfully designed vessel with advanced navigation systems, Interlude is an excellent introduction to sailing larger sailboats. It is a comfortable, easy-to-sail boat that is perfect for the waters of the San Juan Islands and Canadian Gulf Islands.
Feel free to message us with any questions you may have. Why the name “Interlude?” One of our team is a musician, and she defines an interlude as a “pause in a musical piece, a chance to rest.” This boat has been that for us; may you find a respite on Interlude as well.
