We are just a week away from our Fireside Dinner & Bonfire Snowshoe Tour!!

Teaming up with the backcountry cooking masters at , we will begin our adventure guided by the stars above as well as our headlamps as we cruise on snowshoes through the peaceful and lush forest. After a magnificent meander among mountain hemlock and subalpine fir, our tastebuds will lead us to our destination while the experts at Luckey's Woodsman put the finishing touches on what is sure to be an unforgettable meal among stunning scenery! The Luckey's Woodsman chefs will prepare a variety of craft soups paired with freshly baked bread, creating a meal that will be beyond heart-warming!

❄Winter in Sisters❄
The mountains to the west of Sisters are known as the old cascades. Located to the west of their larger, more explosive cousins, these mountains predate the larger Central Oregon volcanoes such as the Three Sisters, Mt Jefferson & Mt. Washington by millions of years. Time and erosion have taken their toll on these peaks, giving them more rugged, yet majestic characteristics relative to the younger volcanoes that sit high on their eastern flanks.

THIS WINTER - Departing from Sisters, we will adventure on snowshoe through these ancient volcanic mountains and forests, connecting to nature and learning about the regions' ancient geology and fascinating cultural history while we kick through fresh powder!

Join us EVERY SATURDAY from January 11th through March 1st for a stunning snowshoe adventure just outside of Sisters' front door!

You find yourself deep in a lush forest of hemlock and fir. Above you, snow falls softly, shimmering in a stunning iridescence as the light of your headlamp dances off the frozen crystals. The air is crisp and fresh. You and your partner take a moment to be still, gazing warmly at the beauty of the forest around you, mittens clasped with one another. Off in the distance, you notice a faint golden glow. You know you’re close. The warmth and unmistakable coziness of a bonfire await you. With snowshoes on foot you continue on your journey as the whiff of hot cocoa lures you forward.

💙 Crater Lake - Oregon's only National Park 💙

In the summer months, Crater Lake is bustling with hikers & travelers. But in the winter, the crowds all but disappear completely as the snow blankets the lake's rim. The Ursids Meteor Shower is a smaller meteor shower compared to the Geminids that peak in mid December. But this year, with the position of the moon, the astronomical forecast indicates great visibility from December 20th through the 24th for the Ursids!! If you're looking to get a glimpse of the Ursids, join us on our Moonlight & Starlight Snowshoe Tour! Heading into the mountains well after the sun has set, we will cruise on snowshoes under the twinkling stars above, playing in the powder and feeling inspired by the beauty of the heavens above!!

We are beyond excited to announce a new special event for this winter (drumroll pleaseee) ❄✨
We will again be teaming up with Luckey's Woodsman to bring you an incredible dining experience in the beautiful Central Oregon outdoors! Our Soup & Snowshoes Bonfire Dinner is a fireside dinner experience that will be taking place in the heart the Cascade Mountains! Deep in an old-growth forest, we will cruise on snowshoes and splash through powder as we meander our way to our dining area. Tucked away among the mountain hemlock, The Luckey's Woodsman crew will be preparing a variety of craft soups and freshly baked bread while bonfires crackle! Join us for what is sure to be an intimate and awe-inspiring event!!

Each season, we choose three causes that align with our mission of empowering people to get into the great outdoors where mother nature can do her work of inspiring and instilling an appreciation and protection for her mighty peaks, stunning rivers, and verdant forests. This winter, our three causes will be COAVY, the Onward Project, and the Wanderlust Scholarship.

Founded in 2009, the Central Oregon Avalanche Center empowers the local backcountry community to make informed decisions by providing avalanche forecasting, observations, and education. is truly a community funded non-profit meaning they receive no USFS, state, and/or federal funding.
The Onward Project was founded by Geoff Babb, the creator and founder of the . We began our partnership with Geoff this summer, hosting several accessible guided tours at some of the most scenic locations in Central Oregon. The Onward Project and AdvenChair are committed to getting those with mobility challenges into the outdoors and we are beyond excited to be working with them towards that endeavor.
Our final cause is the Wanderlust Scholarship. Our scholarship’s goal is to empower those in our local community that may not have the access or resources to adventure to their heart’s desire. Through our scholarship we can allocate funds and resources to help those that are interested in guided outdoor adventures but simply don’t have the access.

When you book your tour with us, you are able to add donations to your reservation for whichever cause is closest to your heart! At the end of the season, Wanderlust will match all donations raised! If you would like to donate directly to one of our partners, head to our partner’s Instagram pages!

The Geminids Meteor Shower is one of the most plentiful meteor showers that grace our night skies each year! Cruising on snowshoes under the starlit sky, we will immerse ourselves in the winter wonderland of the Deschutes National Forest, enjoying a cup of delectable hot cocoa as we witness the Geminids Meteor Shower.

This December’s Geminids will be a mixture of nights where meteor sightings will be likely as well as nights where the equally stunning full moon will be shining brightly and limiting visibility.

The high desert east of Bend is an incredible location for taking in our stunning night skies! Far from city lights, the panoramic views of the stars are simply awe-inspiring. On our Starlight Cave Tour, we begin with an underground adventure through an ancient lava tube cave. Once our exploration below the Earth's surface is completed we will emerge from the cave and immediately be met by the stars and constellations above!!
