The 2025 Elk Country Archery Challenge is set to take place August 15-17 🏹

Offering an exciting weekend of precision shooting and outdoor adventure!

Archers of all skill levels will have the chance to compete in three thrilling events: the 3D Course, where participants will navigate a challenging layout of realistic elk and wildlife targets; the Head-to-Head competition, a fast-paced showdown that tests accuracy under pressure; and the ultimate Challenge Course, designed to push archers to their limits with rugged terrain and demanding shot placements.

Whether you're a seasoned competitor or a newcomer looking to test your skills, this event promises an unforgettable experience in the heart of Elk Country.

When you register for the shoot before May 26th, 2025 (Memorial Day) you will be entered into a giveaway. 1 lucky Archer will win a cabin at Medix run lodges to stay at for the event! (Fri-Sun)

Registration closed on February 14th. If you would like to be added to our mailing list for 2026, please send us a private message with your mailing address.

We have a total of 82 people registered for the 11th Annual Elk Shed Hunt that is held by the QIDC. That means the winner will take home a total of $410. We will be donating a total of $41 to KECA and we will keep $41 for the QIDC. The remaining $328 will be divided up among those that registered and bring an antler to the scoring event on May 24th. Scoring will take place between 11 am and 1 pm.

T-shirts ($20), Crewneck Sweatshirts ($25), and Hoodies ($30) can still be preordered on our website at www.visitquehannaarea.com. Simply go to our store and place your order. We will be placing our order with Jim's Sports Center at the end of April.

Now that peak season is over we are offering our winter rates from now until end of March. If you are looking for a quiet inexpensive getaway out in the country then please send us a message. You will get rates as if you are renting a hotel room but with the convenience of having your own tiny house with four beds, a full kitchen (with stove/oven, full size fridge, microwave, slow cooker, pots, pans, utensils, etc), full bath, nice size living room, and conveniently located on 2 acres of land along one of the best elk viewing roads in PA.

Saturday, November 16th ~ 2pm Elk Basics
New to learning about elk? Join us for the basic breakdown as we learn about elk history, elk ecology and elk behavior. Are you a seasoned “Elkspert?” We bet you’ll learn something new too!


Sunday, November 17th ~ 2pm Cocoa & Chat
With the Holidays coming up, sometimes it can be hard to relax and get outside. Join Mariah as we drink cocoa and chat about ways to relax in nature. Forest bathing and sensory walks are great ways to destress in the great outdoors during the holidays.


Saturday, November 23rd ~ 2pm PA Black Bears
Join us for an informative presentation as we learn many fascinating facts about one of Pennsylvania’s largest mammals. Learn about their physiology, life cycle, and some interesting information about their den sites. You’re sure to learn something new about our big, fuzzy friends!


Sunday, November 24th ~ 2-3pm Make & Take Thanksgiving Day Craft
Come Join us at the Elk Country Visitor Center for a fun craft! We will be making Leaf Lanterns as a fun craft in celebration of the upcoming holiday. All ages are welcome to participate!

We still have some openings this upcoming week. The elk are putting on a good show and today they were so close that it would give you goosebumps hearing them bugle at such a close distance and all right from our front door steps. This is a prime time to come see the elk and all that the Benezette area and surrounding areas have to offer.
