The Chocolate Bars, Maze District of Canyonlands National Park. An AMAZING place, where you'll rarely find another soul. Extremely difficult to reach, requiring a 2-day 4x4 drive, straddling rocks, crevices, steep dropoffs and places that make you say "OH SH*T". But oh, so worth it. This utterly remote section of the park limits visitors and they even inspect your gear to make sure you can survive the journey and have the needed supplies and equipment (BTW, you get stuck out there, it's a minimum $2500 to come get you out!!!). You also have to check in and check back out when you return. I got the pleasure of going out there with world renowned photographer and great friend Mitch Dobrowner for an adventure I'll never forget (Thanks Mitch!!!).

More fun back by the Tetons at the Moulton barn on Mormon row. Such a photogenic place! Every time we go there, it's different in subtle ways!

At #5 for the year is a shot near Rodeo, New Mexico in late July as the sun set with monsoon storms generating amazing colors and rainbows. Throw in a cool CG as well! Gotta love the southwest monsoons!

A few years ago Caryn and I chose to spend Christmas in Jackson, Wyoming. We decided to do a snowmobile ride through Yellowstone, which "most" entrances are CLOSED in the winter. What an amazing experience. The outfitter fed us breakfast, then dressed you up with massive layers of warm clothing, put you on a snowmobile with heated handles (And you needed it at -10F!) and off you go! We went all the way to Old Faithful and Geiser Basin from the south entrance. An experience we'll never forget. If you ever get the chance, DO IT! Strange seeing the park with nobody there! We need to do it again, SOON!

A few K-H instability waves develop southwest of Denver as a fast flow aloft develops with our incoming storm. Still looks like we will have a white Thanksgiving along the front range of Colorado!

Mt Sneffels Wilderness Area in the San Juan mountains of Colorado is incredible. About 2 weeks before I took this shot (Oct 26th), I'm sure this was a sight to behold! However, there was no snow then. The sunset, the little bits of fall leaf colors leftover, and the clouds made this a treat to shoot! Let alone the 14,157 majestic peak! I waited for about 2 hours for this shot!
