Day Of The Dead is a celebration of love and memory, where life and death come together in a colorful way. One tradition on Day of the Dead is creating ofrendas, or altars, to honor deceased loved ones. Families decorate these altars with photos, candles, marigolds, and the favorite foods of the deceased. Have you been snorkeling? What's the coolest thing you've seen while snorkeling? I saw a sea lion while I was snorkeling in the Galapagos. We looked each other in the eyes then it blew a bubble and swam away.

I'd like to clear something up. Many people in the US are confused about Cinco De Mayo. It celebrates a specific historical event in which the Mexican army defeated the French at the Battle of Puebla in 1862.

However, Mexican Independence day celebrated on Sept 16, is similar our Independence day in that it celebrates the beginning of Mexico's Independence from Spain in 1810. it honors the broader struggle for national sovereignty and the birth of the Independent nation of Mexico.
