Southern Brazil. No-till system in Brazil is attributed to 3 men, developed over 40 years ago. We visited Franke Dijkstra’s farm, one of the pioneers, hosted by his grandson. They grow seed corn, milk cows and grow barley (second crop after soybeans; could plant after corn but N content is too low). The creamery is just a few miles down the road and a new barley malting facility is under construction nearby. Heineken beer has a brewery in the next town and Brazilians love their beer.
