Getting ready for the last half of my YEDA show season! We will be in Ohio during the end of February and the beginning of March for 3 final shows.

I am very anxious for this weather to break so that I can get back in the saddle with my own horse, but in the mean time I am still making/selling soap and keychains. I currently have Lavender Goat's Milk, Lavender & Chamomile, Milk & Honey, Snowy Christmas, and Wishful Christmas in stock. I am preparing to make more, so let me know if there are any scents you would like to see!

Hey everyone! This is Alayna, I have taken over my mom's page, Keri's Trading Post and it will now be transitioning into AAK Mountain Farm.

I am looking forward to sharing my adventures in all things animals and my small business! I am continuing to make soap and lotion as well as some beadwork items (keychains, lanyards, etc.)

Those of you that are on my personal page are aware, but for those of you that aren't, my oldest daughter is currently "running" my soap business (with my help of course) to earn enough money to buy new tack to show her horse in a new discipline this year. She has a decent inventory stocked now so I decided it was time to share with all of you. I will include a list below of what's in stock. She has brought some of my favorites back but has also made some new ones. These are all large bars and are $5. She is 1/3 of the way to her goal, which is amazing! We greatly appreciate everyone's support in her efforts. Let me know if you'd like to place an order.

As promised, I am back after a brief hiatus due to the craziness of life. This summer, my updates may be sporadic, but know that we are here and living life to the fullest! We survived soccer and softball seasons, now on to horse show season. But right in the midst of it all....KIDDING SEASON! We had a slower year this year with only 3 delivering babies....

While I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about horses (I have been exposed to horses since before I can remember), there is always more to learn. Lena's owner at the time she was bred told us to expect a grullo (or grulla, I have come to discover that it is spelled either way. Grullo is what is recognized by the American Quarter Horse Association, but either is correct) foal, and she was right....

After 5 sleepless nights of checking the camera every 1.5-2 hours, Lena FINALLY had her foal very early this morning!! I know many are waiting for this update, so I am sleepily writing this, forgive me if I struggle! HA! At my 3:00am check, Lena seemed a little "off" and was pacing, so I suspected that we may be finally entering the first stage of labor....

We are still anxiously awaiting the arrival of Lena's foal. We have had the camera on her for a few weeks now. She is also being monitored closely. According to her owner at the time of breeding, says she is due May 1st. I am told that horses "due dates" are very general and a horse's gestation can vary greatly. It is said that it is normal for a horse to carry 320-380 days....

It has been a while since I have had a chance to share our happenings. Not much to report with Mama Lena. She did have a minor infection that requires her to be on an antibiotic (and of course probiotics) until she delivers now. She is expanding by the day. She is already annoyed with her daily "inspections" to note progress....

Each year we like to have an ultrasound done on our goats so we have an idea of how many babies to prepare for at kidding time. Today was that day. I always love hearing how many are on the way. I was a little nervous as we used our young (not really, he's almost 2 lol) buck for one of our does, so I wasn't sure if he was able to get the job done....

She had been making it for a while, at that point, and we had just ventured in to the world of goats.
