To commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day, I wanted to share a really cool tidbit. Every day in the Magic Kingdom at 5pm, there is a flag lowering ceremony in which a veteran is asked to participate. The Main Street Philharmonic plays and the Dapper Dans sing. I was finally able to see it the other day. Thank you to those who continue to fight tyranny in the world.

Here are days 9, 10, and 11 of our Disney trip last month. We checked into Animal Kingdom Lodge, visited Animal Kingdom theme park, and enjoyed many of the wonderful amenities and cultural activities our resort had to offer.

Our Story

Lauren’s story:

I went to Walt Disney World for the first time when I was 9 years old. I was immediately hooked. We went a total of 3 times when I was little because my grandmother lived in Daytona Beach in the winter.

Many years later, I got to visit Tokyo Disneyland in college when I was studying in Japan, and I visited Paris Disneyland when I was studying in France. My return to Walt Disney World didn’t come until I met Chris!

Chris and I took our first trip together in Spring 2011 and I quickly remembered everything I had been missing plus so much more since they had added to the property extensively since my last visit. We returned again for our honeymoon, and have been there several times since as newlyweds, parents of an infant, parents of a toddler, and parents of a preschooler. We’ve also been on a Disney Cruise as part of our honeymoon and we have visited Aulani, Disney’s stunning resort in Ko Olina, Oahu, Hawaii.
