First and foremost we hope that everyone has weathered the storm and is safe and healthy. The last few days have certainly been wild here in Western Maine, but it has been heartwarming to see our community come together and support each other.
Let’s start off with the good news: This morning we were able to get Mountain Ops, Patrol and Management out on the hill to assess the conditions here at Mt. Abram. We were incredibly fortunate to not sustain any major infrastructural damage over the last few days. Snowmaking will resume this evening and we're looking at a great window to be running the guns continuously over the next few days.
We will be pushing back opening day to Saturday December 23rd, this will allow us to refresh the trails and begin replacing the snowpack, as well as give our staff the time needed to get everything back on track. We will open at 9am with all services out of the Mainside. Open terrain will be announced closer to Saturday.
Uphill access will remain closed until more open terrain is available.
Please note: The Westside will NOT be open and we will not have any beginner terrain available. We hope to get the Westside up and running by the 28th if conditions allow.
Loose Boots Lounge will be open for regular hours (Thursday - Sunday) starting tomorrow for Community Pizza Night! Stop in with your family and friends to catch up and share stories from the last few days.
We want to thank our wonderful staff for the exceptional work to get the mountain back in shape and ready for opening day. We'd also like to thank community members, electrical workers, town staff and everyone involved in bringing our community back together. This truly is an incredible place to live.
Please continue to stay safe out there and we’ll see you soon!
