Airbnb will start remitting 8% of the 11% of transient occupancy tax (TOT) to the City of Big Bear Lake. Starting this year, taxes collected must be remitted monthly. I have a petition going to request Airbnb remit ALL the taxes or NONE of the taxes.
As a guest, this probably doesn't concern you at all, but you can support hosts by signing the petition.

Please consider signing this petition. Airbnb want to only remit only part of the tax collected for vacation stays. This petition asks Airbnb to pay the complete amount or continue to let hosts remit the taxes to the City of Big Bear Lake.

Heading to Big Bear between Feb 19-22? You should be aware of this then. The 91 FWY closure will stretch 6 miles from I-15 to the 71, and extend from 9 p.m. Feb. 19 until 4 a.m. Feb. 22.

Ben's Weather Forecast (updated Wednesday, Nov 11th @ 10:00pm © 2015):
Another very cold night as lows plummet into the teens, excellent snowmaking for resorts! A dry offshore flow will keep temperatures from warming baxk up too quickly through the end of the week but still beautiful weather with light east to northeast winds as afternoon highs top out in the upper 40's to near 50 degrees on Thursday, then into the mid 50's Friday through the weekend as overnight lows remain in the teens & 20's. Another weak trough of low pressure will approach our area late Sunday with a few snow showers possible by Monday; cold & windy with highs dropping back into the 30's warming again later in the week. So it looks like a repeat of the little storms we've experienced over the last 3 weeks, but nothing significant with just another dusting of snow possible.

Big Bear Lake, CA - Highway 18 remains closed on Monday – Friday through October 29. Weather permitting, the 29th is planned to be the final date.

Highway 38 continues with the traffic light at the Hathaway Bridge project and one lane traffic delays of up to 30 minutes to pass the repaving project. This work is going from 6:00am – 6:00pm, weather permitting. The bridge project will nit likely be completed before winter and will likely need to resume in the spring of 2016.
