Our Story

In 2014 Theresa was doing some of her typical research on places to get away for one of our favorite holidays, Fourth of July. She came across this little mountain town with a lake and a fireworks show called Big Bear. We booked an adorable cabin with some friends, and had an unbelievable weekend. During the trip we both knew we'd fallen in love with the mountain town feel, and everything Big Bear had to offer. We spent hours walking the neighborhoods looking for our own cabin retreat.

After looking at A LOT of cabins we settled on our first Big Bear cabin and appropriately named it Big Bear Boarding House. It's a two bedroom, one and a half bath located in a quaint neighborhood near Bear Mountain. We were both working "down the hill" at the time so we used a local management company for our rentals when we weren't using the cabin. It was not the experience we were looking for. At that point we made a decision that JJ leave his job, and take over managing the rental of the cabin. We couldn't have made a better decision! He took over the business and purchased and renovated four more cabins!

All of our cabins, and property management service is based the idea that we add our own personal touch to each experience so you have FUN! In a world where hospitality feels more corporate we strive to be unique, fun, and adventurous.
