Dig in, sisters. Dig in!
The life of a lioness: they do all the dirty work of hunting. Sometimes even hunt 'deadly prey.' But the males eat first and leave the ladies to fight for scraps. Yet the ladies need milk to nurse the cubs and for their own nutrition and energy to be able to hunt again lest everybody starves to death. #queenofthejungle

Ok. We either have a new resident jazz band at this restaurant or it's just a band of beggars at the street corner? Either way, we love their sound. We love the sound of nature. Just remember the no.1 rule, everybody: kindly, Don't Feed the Wildlife. Our guest Trevor here took that in so well. Lush Africa Safaris: Out There is Out Here!

During the Lion & Leopard (Predator) Experiential in Queen Elizabeth NP by Lush Africa Safaris guests Vatche and Salpie over the weekend, our guide Derrick Mwesigwa captured one of the most surreal wildlife moments you will ever see. Just spotting a single leopard on a safari is considered as being lucky (I know of a wonderful guide who has been guiding in the Serengeti for 7 years and they've never spotted one). Seeing 3 leopards together is beyond lucky. And yet here she was; this mama leopard basking in the glory of raising a sub-adult son and daughter. All looking healthy and strong. She's enjoying this moment like it's the last. They won't be staying together for long, you know. These big cubs will soon graduate to solitary life, and the mother wouldn't even hesitate to 'punish' them if she found them on her turf. They'll soon be forced to find a new home to start their own respective families. Mama leopard will have accomplished her sacred project. These successful leopard stories are helping boost the numbers here. The current number of leopards in Queen is pretty impressive. Our guests a month ago saw 8 different leopards on a single 3-hr trip. They were stunned. These trackers/researchers/conservationists are not joking. I encourage those planning a trip to Queen Elizabeth NP to consider adding the Predator Tracking Experiential to their activities. #OutThereIsOutHere

We are in Lake Nakuru National Park, Kenya today. Famous for its large flocks of pink flamingos, and rhinos.
Forget about the river crossing; today, we're witnessing the road crossing in the Serengeti... #OutThereIsOutHere
HAPPY WORLD GORILLA DAY: Mountain gorillas have endured years of war, hunting, habitat destruction, and disease -- threats so severe that it was once thought the species might be extinct by the end of the twentieth century. But through tenacious and dedicated conservation efforts, their numbers are above 1,000 now. Rwanda and Congo have some. Uganda has the most. Nothing stimulates a human mind like coming face to face with these gentle giants. So, my friend, you haven't been on a safari if you haven't met a mountain gorilla family yet. Needless to say, you will never find mountain gorillas in zoos because they don't survive in captivity. Therefore, Lush Africa Safaris is here to make your dream come true to experience a real life King Kong kingdom -- just less chaotic. #OutThereIsOutHere

Hyena comes too close to lion cubs, and the King of the Jungle literally throws the [Law of the Jungle] book at him. Masai Mara #LushAfricaSafaris
HEY BROTHER: Barely 3 months ago, we met these two boys as big cubs still living with their pride in Serengeti. They have since flown the nest, and now fending for themselves. In the vast Serengeti, there's more than enough to go around. But two sub-adult males killing a buffalo is still no mean feat. Hope these boys grow up to their full potential and even take up a pride of their own, one day. #causeanuproar #OutThereIsOutHere
Lush Africa Safaris in Masai Mara 8/8/24
Our guests in Masai Mara this morning. The Great Migration is ongoing so definitely there's more than enough to go around.... but that doesn't mean you're just going to walk in here and grab someone else's stuff. Like our young tourist can be heard in the video, "get out of his [her] hair..."๐
