I’m not often at a loss for words (shocking, right?!) And this post is going to seem awfully long, to not know the right words. But I am absolutely speechless and in tears over the extreme love I’ve been shown today by my Mojito Creek Tribe!! Several weeks ago a group of my Mojito Ladies (who have become more then guests, more then friends, more like sisters!) proposed a volunteer Spring Clean up day!! I’m grateful they knew my heart well enough to approach me with this idea, and love me enough to want to do it!! Off they went laying out a plan. Asked for a list of things I wanted done, offered up their own suggestions, we brainstormed etc. etc. Emails went out, plans went flying... Last year was a hard year for everyone- and doubly hard on your small business owning friends- and triply hard on your small business owning friends in the arts and travel industries... And time is short for two working parents for a property of this size.
Today was the first (hopefully annual) Mojito Creek Volunteer Spring Clean up day!! Things are looking amazing! Magical even!! I’m at a loss for words and Filled with gratitude!! The pictures will not do this justice!!
Thank you Debbie Palm Vallero for approaching me with this idea and for organizing everything! For the planning, emailing and reminders! Thank you for bringing your husband Don today and please thank him for all his hard work, the back of the house is perfect and winter won’t make mud anymore!Debbie, thank you for having a green thumb and a vision for the front garden area! Your knees and back must be aching!! I can not wait to watch this garden grow over the next 100 years!! We are going to make sure everyone knows Weeds=Wishes so that it stays w**d free!! Love you girl!
Patty Gilbert thank you for spending the last several days at Mojito Creek staining feet and feet and feet of wood trim!! Wow! What a difference! Thank you for bringing your friend Elizabeth and her love of painting and redoing the master bathroom cabinets! Thanks to the pair of you for washing all of the curtains and bedding! And for buying new curtains for the bedrooms! And that was all before today started!! Please tell Joel, Sawyer and Sam thank you for all of their hard work and willingness to just do what was needed!!

The purple picnic table is the perfect addition to the deck and I am grateful to be gifted such a perfect set up so more people can gather! Thanks for bringing Jeff today! I see why you’ve kept him around for so many years!! What a handy guy! Thank you both for lifting and toting and hauling and cleaning and running and buying rock and a 100 things in between!!
Gayle Martinez who knew you were such a capable badass with a w**d whacker?! And then the lawnmower too! The side yard and fire pit area are amazing! Joey is a gem, even one handed! Please tell him thank you for putting all of the plug in plates on, changing lightbulbs and knowing pretty much everything!! Thank you both!
Sarah King thank you for coming today to help! It really meant a lot to me! All your picture hanging skills really paid off today! Coat hangers, wood plaques, metal signs, you name it!! The pots are perfectly painted and the flowers look expertly done! Thanks love!
Jackie- my Mojito Creek keeper! I’d be lost without you. You are a rockstar and this place would not run without you!!
To the ladies who couldn’t make it today, but still made a donation to the cause via Venmo!
