As you know, I always recommend travel insurance, especially when traveling international. One of our friends' families went to Jamaica and got stuck there for three extra nights due to the hurricane... luckily, they had purchased the travel insurance. I just received the following email from my friend...
The gist of it said, "I just got an email today from the travel insurance company and they are mailing us a check for $1200 which covers our extra two nights of lodging and $1000 for other stuff I'm not sure what. I submitted receipts for food, but that was about $150. I don't know if there is something like pain and suffering factored in there, but it worked out in our favor so hooray!The travel insurance literally paid for itself along with all of our other other costs."
I love when things work like they should. Always get the travel insurance!!!
