We just crossed the halfway mark on renovations at Blood Mountain Cabins! New exterior updates include siding, paint, roof and more. Interior upgrades on fireplaces, TV's and more. New signage package and wifi at each cabin being installed next week. We're still open for guests during renovations, and we're now also leasing long-term. Renovations in progress! We are excited to announce that we are upgrading all 13 cabins and the main building at Blood Mountain Cabins. Replacing damaged boards and siding, securing decks and railings, new exterior paint, new roof on all cabins, installing wifi at each cabin, smoothing driveway, clearing dead trees, installing new signage, adding common area amenities and more. This is an exciting time at the community! We are updating in phases so cabins are still available to rent. We look forward to sharing the finished product which will be ready for the Fall. Metal roof and new gutters going on this unit today ... stay tuned for updated photos as we make progress.

Long-term cabin rentals now available! Weekly, Monthly, Yearly leases available. Can be leased fully furnished and all-inclusive with power, water, gas, internet and TV included. Entire community is being renovated, and updated cabins will be available late Summer. Short-term rentals remain available, with renovations starting on those units within 60 days. Stay tuned for more information and renovation photos. Exciting times at Blood Mountain Cabins!

They say you should walk a mile in someone’s shoes, but I’ve found it’s better to just walk a mile next to them.

Because you shouldn’t have to go through something yourself in order to care about it happening to someone else.

You shouldn’t have to know that exact pain to show concern or compassion for theirs.

And because you should recognize that you are seeing but a tiny part of the overall picture—much of it may be outside your ability to truly empathize with.

Here’s the thing, though—you can still be a good friend. You can still help.

Simply by acknowledging that what they are going through is so hard. Simply by being there for them.

And you can choose to trust their experience of the hard thing, instead of trying to imagine yourself in it.

Sometimes we don’t need someone to put themselves in our place.

We just need someone to hold our hand and walk alongside us.
