If you are following trends being reported for our weather next week, then you noticed that there is another cold front moving our way. Some forecasts show another opportunity for snow in the North Georgia mountains. It would be almost unprecedented for us to have accumulated snow in our area twice in the same season. But, I am not complaining because who doesn't love the chance to go sledding and building snowmen.

If you missed out on the last round of snow, you need to take that leap of faith for this time.

If it doesn't snow, then you have had some great snuggling in front of a crackling fire. There are great restaurants, vineyards and plenty of outdoor activities in our area too. Consider treating yourself to a cozy getaway for a long weekend. If it does snow, then that will be a bonus but bring your sled just in case.

Come melt the cold away in front of a warm fire at one of our cabins at Highland Falls. After a day of visiting all the shops, waterfalls and vineyards in our area head on in to the cabin to sit beside a blazing fire to cast off the chill of winter. We have been talking for a couple days about the likelihood of sledding at our cabins with the forecast of snow. Here is an example of the fun at Cabins at Highland Falls.

Storm Blair brought to Blairsville and our cabins a nice coating of snow and the chance to fullfill our dream of sliding down one of our hills. Normally we get snow flurries and a light dusting of snow in North Georgia. But this year we had enough snow to go sledding down the hills on our property.

Are you still sticking to your New Year's resolutions?

For some of us it is extremely hard to stick to those exercise and dietary resolutions once we get back to our daily routines.

There certainly are plenty of self help guides available to help us stay on track. Now all I have to do is follow that advice.

Snow is in the forecast for our area of north Georgia this weekend. If you look at the weather forecast, it looks like just a small area in north Georgia including Blairsville will be in the line of snow that is moving south. Blairsville is just 30 miles south of North Carolina and the forecast models show the cold and snow dipping into our town. With a storm name of Blair we think the chances are even better for snow in Blairsville. 😊

We are sending wishes to all our friends, followers and guests for a wonderful new year. 2025 has just started and we have much to look forward to in the coming year. Our beautiful community of Blairsville continues to add new businesses and great places to dine. Blairsville offers a variety of events and festivals throughout the year that we always enjoy attending. Something is going on most weeks with our local businesses offering specials and staying open later in the evening. We have noticed the addition of excellent music groups to local restaurants and vineyards plus concerts at our old court house and in our town square. Car shows, farmer's market and Scottish Highland Games are all things we look forward to in the coming year. But most of all we look forward to all the families that visit our cabins. Family reunions, wedding groups and individual families spending time at Cabins at Highland Falls in the new year makes us happy. We have returning families with new grandchildren we look forward to seeing play in our fields and stream. We look forward to a new generation of young people finding joy in our neck of the woods as parents and grandparents share the beauty of our community.

So, yes, we have much to look forward to in 2025. We hope you have a visit to Cabins at Highland Falls on your list of things you are looking forward to in 2025.

If you live in Florida, we are only two hours north of Atlanta and a world away from the noise and congestion of the big cities. If you have kids or you are a kid at heart, come for a funfilled time. A snow day to remember

It may be late in the season to be singing "Over the river and through the woods to ...." Cabins at Highland Falls we go. But with the rain we just had, I wanted to share the swift moving water flowing under our bridge. Right now it isn't the peaceful, meandering stream I usually refer to in our posts. However, it shows that there is always something different to see when visiting our cabins. Come soon to see either our swift moving stream or the one that conjures up peaceful memories of a slow moving country life in the North Georgia mountains. We hope today is a great day for you. A visit to the north Georgia mountains is always a great day in my mind. Can't beat the fresh mountain air, the beautiful views and the laid back easy living once you get away from the hectic city life filled with congestion everywhere you go and the noise that goes with all that traffic. Come enjoy mountain views, rippling water in our stream and deer and turkey wandering on our property. Just thinking about time in the mountains brings a sense of peace for me.
