Such a fabulous museum and ruin at Edge of the Cedars State Park in Blanding. It is wonderful to learn about those who lived here prior to us. Did you know that there were more people who lived in this area back when the Ancestoral Puebloans inhabited this land, than those who live here now? It enhances the experience of being here as you learn about them living here those many years ago! Take the time...it's worth it!!!

🌲Tis the season! Christmas Tree permits from the Forest Service are available at the Blanding Visitor Center. Each permit is $10 with a limit of 5/customer. You'll get a map for approved areas to cut your tree, with a list of regulations to follow. Our current business hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mon-Sat. Such a heavenly smell to fill your home with the fragrance of a fresh cut Christmas tree! 🎄Ahhhh, so nice! Merriest of Christmas's to ya!

Welcome to Southeastern Utah! The Blanding VC has new 2022 Winter Hours as of Nov 1. We will be open Mon-Sat 10a.m.-4p.m. and closed on Sunday. Restrooms are open during our business hours! Maverik and 7-11 have restrooms open 24/7. Canyon Country in the center of town at the flashing 4 Way light is open 7a.m.-9p.m.

Often mistaken for Horseshoe Bend, Goosenecks State Park in Southeastern Utah has not one, but THREE bends! As it passes through the Goosenecks, the San Juan River travels over 6 miles, while advancing to the west just 1 mile.

Today’s the day! Timed Entry begins April 3rd and runs through October 3rd, 2022. During this time, you’ll need a Timed Entry Ticket to enter the park between 6 am and 5 pm daily.

The park will release tickets three months in advance in monthly blocks. For those without an early reservation, some next-day tickets will be available at 6 pm daily.

Bridge Evaluation Underway for Main Route to Lake Powell from Eastern Utah. The Cottonwood Wash Bridge is closed until further notice on Highway 95, about nine miles west of Blanding.

10:28 PM Update: The flash flood has passed by Sunny Acres Lane, and has flooded onto the roadway in several locations. Avoid any areas near the creek bed if possible.

The Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning effective until 10:56 tonight. The storm is reported to be slow moving and hitting harder than the last. Please refrain from traveling and notify Dispatch of any emergencies!
