Today is a great day to celebrate one of our oldest and most beautiful residents, Willa Harter, who turned 102 years young this week. Willa is a talented poet and writer, whose family helped to found the Ft. Bloomfield Rodeo. Some of Willa's crafts are also for sale at the Welcome Center gift shop. Yes, the cost of living is going up, but Davis County is still a bargain! This list doesn't even take into account all the events that are free, such as Floris Flag Day, Hairy Nation Days, the 4th of July Rodeo Parade, the Davis County Fair, Old Soldiers and Settlers' in Drakesville, the Pulaski Corn Show, Fall Festival, and Pumpkin Bash, to name just a few. And, unlike big cities and metropolitan areas, we enjoy FREE PARKING 365 days of the year! 😎

HOW ABOUT A MOVIE THIS WEEKEND?!?!?!?

The Bloomfield Optimist Club is proud to sponsor a family movie night this weekend at the Iowa Theater. Any kids ticket will be $1 off and each kids ticket will also receive a $2 credit toward a concession item!!! We have an awesome theater here in Bloomfield and we have prices that CANNOT BE BEAT for family entertainment. We want to celebrate that by giving you even more reasons to visit the Iowa Theater and enjoying some fun right here in our community!

Come in THIS WEEKEND, Friday and Saturday at 7pm and Sunday at 4pm and enjoy Paddington in Peru with the whole gang. And say hello to US!! Members of our club will be there taking tickets and serving up concession goodies. We hope to see you THIS WEEKEND at the Iowa Theater!!!

Oh, my gosh, this is fantastic!!! CONGRATULATIONS and GOOD WORK, By the Hearth Bookshop! Indie bookstores serve not only the local community, but they are a great draw to visitors. Like our other amazing retailers, they are an ATTRACTION not to be missed.

Open today until 1 p.m. and then closing for New Year's. See you again on Thursday, January 2nd.

Lots of fun options in Davis County today, including the Giant Pumpkin Smash at the Fairgrounds, Fall Farm Fun Days at The Red Shed, apple-picking at Apple Blossom Farms, the Farmers' Market featuring the last mini market of the season on the Square, and more! Great ways to celebrate the first full weekend of Fall!

Tomorrow night, serving from 5 p.m. until supplies run out...free-will donation.

Today, we welcome a bus tour from Pella coming to visit Davis County. If you see us out and about, don't forget to wave!

FYI: You might not see the Open flag out until Friday when the new one arrives. Current flag is too tired to fly. In the meantime, our OPEN signs in the south and east windows are fully operational.
