Renowned author, poet, actress, and champion of equality Maya Angelou is set to be honored by the U.S. Postal Service with her own Forever Stamp.

Sad day - for poets, poetry lovers and people in general.

Angelou refused to speak for much of her childhood and revealed the scars of her past in her groundbreaking memoir I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. She opened doors for black and female writers.
