First actual bear encounter at the cabin. We certainly didn't anticipate a bear stealing a piece of cake off the back porch. I'm so happy he stopped to pose for a pic! Otherwise, I probably would have gotten accused of eating it!

Firework Special
Join the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway as they celebrate the birth of our great nation on Friday, July 3rd for their Firework Special train.

The train will depart Blue Ridge at 7:00 pm to enjoy the great Copper Basin Fireworks display just after dark and then return to Blue Ridge by 11:00pm.

Bring your lawn chair and sit outside the train to view the fireworks! Activities in downtown McCaysville/Copperhill when you arrive. Lots of vendors for food and things to do for the kids until the fireworks start.

Join us for an evening of mountain music set down in Poplar Holler at Deep Roots Orchard. Bring your blanket or lawn chairs.

Solo artist Jeff Parker and Blue Ridge Grass will take the stage and will perform rain or shine.

Concessions and home cooked grub of BBQ chicken, tater salad, rolls, and ear corn will be sold through Deep Roots Orchard on site.

Tickets can be purchased at the orchard in person or by calling, at FCHS, your local United Community Bank location or purchase tickets online.
