Helping Our Neighbors: Water & Bleach Donation Drive

We are partnering with Ashland Company Store and Ashland Resort to collect bottled water and bleach for those affected by recent flooding. 💙

📍 Drop-off Location: Visit Mercer County Bluefield location -619 Bland Street, Bluefield, WV or 215 South Walker Street, Princeton. Hours 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Due to heavy snowfall on Wednesday, call 304-325-8438 to arrange a time to drop off items.

📅 Deadline: Friday at 2 PM. Ashland Company Store will be offering a free meal on Saturday, February 22 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. All donations will be handed out at the meal.

Every donation makes a difference! Let’s come together to support our neighbors in McDowell County during this time.

Supplies can also be taken directly to the McDowell County Fire Department and the Welch Naitonal Guard Armory. Financial donations can be sent to the McDowell County Sheriff Department. Please note flood relief.

Over the holiday weekend, parts of Mercer County experienced heavy rainfall and flooding, but our community is strong and resilient. Local emergency responders and officials acted quickly to address any issues, and we are grateful for their hard work in keeping our residents and visitors safe.

We want to assure everyone that Mercer County is 100% open for visitors. Our trails, shops, restaurants, and attractions are ready to welcome you. If you have travel plans, rest assured that we are here and excited to host you!

Our thoughts are also with our neighbors in McDowell County who were impacted by the flooding. We stand with you and encourage those who can to support recovery efforts in any way possible.

As crews work to repair washed-out roads, we ask everyone to be mindful of Department of Highways workers and drive cautiously in affected areas. Some roads may experience temporary closures as repairs are made, so plan accordingly.

If you or someone you know needs assistance due to the recent flooding, local resources are available. Please reach out for a direct list of ways you can help Southern West Virginia.
