Shay Shull, Mix and Match Travel Agency

Popular lifestyle influencer Shay Shull talks everything from food to family, adoption, travel, organization, fashion and more each day on her blog Mix and Match Mama.

Fourteen years ago, Shay was specializing in life insurance sales with State Farm Insurance when an unfortunate dark season in her life encouraged her to begin a new hobby…blogging. As a journalism major from the University of North Texas, she took her skills in knowledge as a writer and was able to turn a part-time hobby into a fulltime profession.

Along with being an influencer, ten years ago, Shay saw the organic opportunity to turn her second favorite hobby, traveling, into another business. After years of posting her family’s vacation on her blog and social media, and many requests from readers to help them with their travels, Shay reached out to Palm Coast Travel in June 2012 at the advice of another travel professional about parlaying her love of travel into an agency. From there, a business was born. Over the last ten years, she has turned her little travel agency into a very successful business employing a team of women to work alongside her and plan vacations for people each and every day. The resources, training, tools, online materials, and personal connections with everyone at OASIS has made it simple and easy to operate her business. Shay truly feels as though she is a part of a much larger team when she logs in each day to begin work. Anytime she has a question, a technical issue, or whenever a problem arises, the amazing team at OTN is quick to step in and help. Their years of experience and expertise in the field of travel have made it easy for Shay to create her own business.

Mix and Match Travel Agency specializes in vacation planning for international destinations, cruises, Hawaii, Alaska, and Walt Disney World. Together with her team, Shay creates custom vacations for each of her clients every day from her office outside of Dallas. The relationships she’s developed through the OASIS program with vendors has created an intimate community for her to rely on when planning vacations. These relationships are the foundation of her growing business…all thanks to the support and resources OASIS Travel Network provides.

Shay has appeared several times on the Today show, Home and Family, QVC, Good Morning Texas, the Paula Deen Network, Fox and Friends and more. Shay has also authored six family-friendly cookbooks that can be found in stores and online. She is also co-host of the very popular podcast, The Bestie Breakdown.

Shay and her husband Andrew live in McKinney, TX with their four kids and three pups. Shay’s true passions include sharing the love and joy that comes from international adoption, yoga, running, the Boston Red Sox and of course, coffee. You’ll find her most days though, at her desk, hair a mess, creating magical trips for all of her clients.

What an honor to be chosen as the Experienced Advisor for November. I left another industry in the Northeast when I moved to Florida in 2012. My neighbor in Florida became my travel advisor. After booking several trips, she asked if I want to learn a new industry and work with her in 2015. I said yes, and six years later, here I am. With a bit of luck and a lot of hard work, our company has maintained top producer status with OASIS ever since. Besides the luck and hard work, OASIS provided a wealth of assistance. The introductions to all our suppliers and the tools that they provide, allowed me to look like a rock start in our industry. I can’t say enough about the support that OASIS provides. The friendships that have been forged with suppliers and other agents have also assisted me with questions that I don’t know the answers to. We are a stronger team together than trying to go it alone. Thank you, OASIS for all your support and encouragement. I so look forward to the future when our travel is truly back.
