Landing in Inchon, Seoul’s International Airport, will rival most large airports. The drive into Seoul brought a reminder of just how close it is to the DMZ. Arriving in another time zone opposite of your Interbankl body clock I like to fet some steps in. After checking into the hotel and a quick refreshing shower I headed to Seolleung Jeongneung park. The price for entry into the park was 1000 South Korean Won, about 68 cents which is well worth it for the tranquility the park offers in a busy city. Seolleung Jeongneung is a World Heritage site and the burial place of King Seolleung and his Queen Jeongneung who were both laid to rest in the late 1400’s. Seoul will rival any of the great cities of the world, it’s safe, thr people are friendly, and it’s incredibly clean. Seoul is also becoming a tourist destination because of its affordabliility and attractions. Stay tuned for more about Seoul in the coming days and don’t forget, when you are ready to travel RuckSac Adventures is ready to go to work for you.

Hello my friends. Get ready for a journey of a lifetime as I explore 3 Asian countries steeped in the history of the United States. First stop Seoul Korea. I am excited to learn about Korean culture and traditions and even take a walk at the DMZ. Going full Gangnan style and staying in the heart of the action. Next I am heading to Japan. I'll be exploring the second largest city in Japan, Osaka, for three days before heading to the cultural capitol Kyoto. Finally, I have four days in Tokyo which should be one of the highlights of the adventure. I have been to some of the largest cities in the world but not confined with such a small location. Next, I fly to Ho Chi Minh City or Saigon for three days. I am sure I will make it to the Ben Thran market and the old Palace while there. Finally, I am off to the coast for some relaxation and the most beautiful sunsets on earth. I have 3 nights in Nha Trang right on the beach and then four nights in Hoi An. The last two stops are the island of Cat Ba for 3 nights and then Hanoi for the last four days. Staying in the French Quarter which is literally a 5 minute walk to city center and old town Hanoi.

Pricing for a month long trip of this nature is probably much less that you'd expect and I have some secrets that can get you in for under $100 per day including air, lodging, and in country transportation. Contact RuckSac Adventures and let's get started on your destination of a lifetime.

Amsterdam is an international city unlike others. The name Amsterdam came about because of the dam built on the river Amster and a central canal district was created that is known the world over. Holland, Dutch, Nederlands, the area has had many names and has been under the flags of more than a few nations but today’s Amsterdam is a tourists delight. The art, music, sights and scenes are so incredible and your senses are heightened by the movement of pedestrians, bikes, autos, and trams moving about so quickly that sometimes you just have to stand back and be amazed. Come to Amsterdam and explore the city that tamed the oceans and got rich from it. The Royal Palace in Amsterdam is a bit of a misnomer and shows exactly how a monarch’s corruption can end a democracy. In the 17th century Amsterdam was one of the most independent places you could find and wealth flowed from the ocean. The democratic town decided it needed a new town hall and this masterpiece was built. Shortly thereafter the Nederlands were invaded and under the subjection of Napoleon who made his brother Louis the king of the Dutch and Louis quickly confiscated this building and turned it into his home. After the fall of Napoleon it was then usurped by another unscrupulous man declaring himself king and what was built as a Town Hall to celebrate democracy and wealth as been a royal palace since. The world has no place for kings and queens, we are all free men not to be subjected by others!

Hello my friends and it’s that time once again. Come along with RuckSac Adventures as we explore some old familiar haunts. First stop, Munich which will include a day trip into old Bavaria, Fussën, and Neuschwanstein. Prague is up next and to enjoy the oldest large city in Europe that was never destroyed in the World Wars, to stand at the base of the oldest working glockenspiel timepiece, and partake of the fine Czech food and drinks you can’t go wrong. Berlin, Check-Point Charlie, Brandenburg Gate, and the Wall awaits and you’ll understand why Berlin is one of the greatest cities in Europe, full of history, intrigue, and tragedy. Last stop on the tour, Amsterdam. Canals, bikes, food and drinks make me think this is an excellent choice for the final stop. I invite you to come along in person or virtually if it’s a bad time to travel (although really, is there ever a bad time to travel) and see the amazing things the world offers. This is also an excellent individual trip and I can dial it down to make it an effortless trip for you at an amazing price. Contact us at RuckSac Adventures today to find out more.

The Royal Palace of Madrid was home to the kings and queens of Spain for centuries and it is certainly fit for a king. Located directly across from Madrid’s Cathedral, these two buildings and the plaza that separates them is one of the finest man made structures in the world rivaling Buckingham, Versailles, and the Louvre. Sadly the toil, pain, and suffering that comes from the church/states that build these incredible structures often go unseen. Traveling and exploring new places are best met with an open mind and appreciation for those that came before. Let RuckSac Adventures help you find your dream destinations and in the meantime enjoy the Royal Palace of Madrid.
