Our temporary park office phone line is 239-707-6328 and available Monday-Friday 9AM – 5PM.

Park facilities that are OPEN include all sections of the Beach, Bayside Picnicking Area, Black Island Trail, Boat Ramp, Eagle Trail, Lovers Key Adventures’ Gift Shop, Kayak Launch, North Beach, Paddling Canals, Parking Lots #1, #2, and #3, Ranger Station, Restroom Trailers (Kayak Launch, Parking Lot #1, and South Beach Bridge Tram Stop), South Beach Bridge Tram Stop, the Welcome and Discovery Center.

Park facilities that at this time remain CLOSED include the Big Carlos Bridge/North Beach Parking Lot, Bait Shop, Fishing Pier, Hurricane Charlie’s, Manatee Outlook, Mid Beach Pedestrian Bridge, North Beach Pedestrian Entrance, and the Welcome Discovery Center’s Learning Bridge.

Our temporary Ranger Station is OPEN from 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM each day and is located just behind where our previous station was.

Annual Passes are being sold during operation. Honor Boxes are located outside the Ranger Station, in Parking Lot #1, and at the Kayak Launch for use outside of operational hours. Signs are beside the Honor Boxes with payment instruction and prices. Cash or online payment only.

The tram operates during the same hours, but on a new route. The tram runs from 8 AM - sunset, and guests are dropped off at the South Beach Bridge Tram Stop located just before the last bridge to the beach. Guests are responsible for walking the final 800 ft. across the bridge to the sand. Beach wheelchairs are available at the tram stop.

Barefoot Beach access opens Friday with limited access. Progress! 😎 ❤

BAREFOOT BEACH OPENS FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 24TH!
To ensure a smooth experience of this minimal beach access opening (soft open), please be patient and take note of the following key points:

1. Parking Lot 1 is currently CLOSED, designated for equipment staging.
2. Parking Lot 2 OPEN FOR PARKING ONLY -- need to walk to Parking Lot 3 for beach access. Park Ranger staff will be stationed at Parking Lot 2 to assist.
3. Parking Lot 3 will be OPEN FOR PARKING, DIRECT BEACH ACCESS, AND RESTROOMS.
4. Credit card fee payments accepted at a designated tent (blue box in pic). Parking is FREE if you have a beach sticker. Sticker info: https://www.collierparks.com/collier_park/beach-parking-information/
5. Bring water and snacks, as there are currently no concessions.
6. NO PETS and NO SHARK FISHING. To fish off the beach, a saltwater fishing license is required (https://myfwc.com/license/recreational/saltwater-fishing/).
7. Barefoot Beach Preserve is not yet open - still many FEMA requirements yet to complete.
8. Maximum parking for 120 cars.

Get ready to eat pizza and watch football on the beach again as Doc's Beach House welcomes people back into its restaurant for the first time since Hurricane Ian.

A waterfront restaurant will be a great addition to Bonita Beach Rd and walking distance from Beach and Tennis Club. Hoping they will be able to make this happen! 😎❤

We are excited to reveal the site plan for our new development, Hickory on the Bay! Our five acre waterfront site will be the new home to Big Hickory Waterfront Grille & Marina, which will have more indoor dining (as requested) but plenty of prime waterside dining, and a full service bar that will have the best selection of frozen drinks, cocktails and cold beers in town!
We are also excited to open our new sweet shop concept that will bake all of the desserts for the restaurant as well as be an ice cream shop, candy store, and all things sweet and delicious! In addition we will have other retail space which we hope will include a coffee shop and another regional concept sandwich shop. We live on Little Hickory Island and know these are concepts that we desperately need not only for locals but for the families and tourists that visit the beach.
Unfortunately the site is located in the Bonita Beach Overlay zone which was adopted in 2019 and really only applies to 4 or 5 undeveloped sites left on Bonita Beach Road. It requires all buildings to be no more than 25' off the road and requires all parking to be behind the buildings. So, that is why we have parking along prime waterfront property, isn't that ridiculous?? It would also require us to have the restaurant closer to the road and not on the water, so this is a big variance that we are asking for. The parking code would also require 275 parking spots! No other restaurant or center has over 75 spots except for Publix, so we are asking for a deviation from that requirement as well.
There will be a first Public Information Meeting on Monday, October 30, 2023 at 5:30 pm at St Leo's Catholic Church. Our team of professionals will present our plan and address any questions that the neighbors or others interested have. We are already aware of people on the bay behind the development that want to prevent us from proceeding, so any locals that could attend and speak on our behalf would be much appreciated. If you can't attend this meeting there will be a second meeting in 2-3 months. So what do you think?

September 28 changed Hickory Blvd and Fort Myers Beach forever. Beach and Tennis Club finally received some insurance money to move forward with ordering materials and permits. Looking forward to our community rebuild over the next few months!

The Fish House Bonita OPEN! 🎉

The Fish House in Bonita is back open!!!!

We have been working soo hard on the renovations and rebuilding efforts since Hurricane Ian. We are thrilled to have our doors opened!!!

We have missed all of you soo much and look forward to seeing you soon!!!

We are open 7 days a week 11am to 9pm!!!

And there was light ⚡️

4 out of the 5 buildings have exterior / hall lights. Electricity is expected to be restored in a few weeks. Fingers crossed!
Elevators and water will likely be early November. A lot of work expected the remainder of the year now that we have insurance monies and getting some electric back to the buildings.

Note: Occupancy is tentatively scheduled for January 1, 2024 with limited amenities, if any. The goal is to get full-time residents back to their homes. *This isn't just a rental community...people live here and want to come home.

Patience is appreciated while Beach and Tennis Club is restored better than ever! Looking forward to posting progress now!!

Working hard even on Saturdays to complete the Lanai and structural repairs; Currently on Buildings 3 and 4.

The work that you see on the lanais and structure was started before the hurricane as part of House Bill 5D requiring structural inspection. BBT completed this assessment way ahead of the deadline of Dec. 31, 2024.

Lots of work being done behind the scenes by Sandcastle and our board. Looking forward to seeing the progress in the community! Everything will be brand new!

And definitely looking forward to renting and spending time in the BBT community again! 😀

Can’t wait to start posting updates on all the improvements!

I really wish I had more of an update. There’s a lot of planning going on behind the scenes. The board, Sand Castle and amenities committee are working with insurance, contractors, vendors, etc. I’m really hoping the grounds start taking form soon because I’m looking forward to providing updates on the progress of the Improved Beach and Tennis Club. 😀🤞

Update: Beach and Tennis Club is still working to restore electric and water. There is temporary power to run the air conditioning units to keep condos free of mold. The structural repair in order to comply with Senate Bill 4-D that was started prior to Hurricane Ian (yes, we are way ahead of the requirement to comply) continues to move forward with temporary electric. We are getting new roofs, new electrical installed in flood proof rooms, new landscaping and new amenities. I can't wait to start posting the NEW and IMPROVED Beach and Tennis Club 😄. And I can't wait to start hosting guests again in Bonita Beach Condos 4805 and 2908! 🙏

We have been working hard on the rebuilding and renovations of the restaurant since Hurricane Ian. We are getting closer and closer to reopening everyday!! We still have some more work to do but each week we have made great progress!! Once we have a reopening date planned, we will let you all know. We miss all of you and can’t wait to see you all again!!

Progress at The Fish House 🐠🐟🎏

Happy Friday, y’all!! We just wanted to give an update on the restaurant. We are working hard on the rebuilding process everyday! We had to completely gut the restaurant. The new walls are framed and the entire building is being rewired for electrical. We still have a lot of work to do. We do not have a specific timeline setup for a reopening date. We will continue to keep you updated as soon as we have more information!

We truly appreciate all of your messages, comments, and well wishes!! We hope to see you all again once we do reopen!!
