BRMR friends,

First, we want to thank everyone for their patience while our company worked tirelessly over the last month to ensure the safety of our employees and guests. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your prayers, thoughts, and unwavering support in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. Now that we've had time to catch our breath, we want to provide our followers with an update on the status of the High Country as a whole.

As we all know, for several weeks post Helene, travel to the area was highly discouraged given the condition of the roads. Just over a month later, it's amazing to see the extensive repairs that have been made in such a short amount of time. Thanks to the hard work of the men and women overseeing restoration efforts in the area, most local restaurants and other businesses in Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, and West Jefferson have reopened and need your support now more than ever. Local businesses are the backbone of our community and they are counting on visitors in the coming months to keep their doors open. As of October 23rd, the Blue Ridge Parkway opened to traffic from 285.5 at Bamboo Gap to milepost 305 near Beacon Heights in Blowing Rock. This is the first section of the roadway to open in NC since the hurricane! This newly reopened section includes some of our favorite spots: Thunder Hill Overlook, Moses Cone Manor & Carriage Trails, Price Park, and Rough Ridge! This morning, an additional 6 miles of the Parkway opened from milepost 405.5 to milepost 411.8. Additionally, while there are still a handful of detours, most major roadways leading in and out of the immediate area are fully open and safe to travel, and the BRMR field team has worked hard to ensure our homes are safe for you and your families.

While the mountains may look and feel a little different than what you may be used to, the Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals family is ready to welcome you back this holiday season to continue making the best memories with your loved ones. We want to begin by expressing our heartfelt gratitude that our family and staff are safe after Hurricane Helene. Our first priority remains ensuring the well-being of those around us, especially in light of the challenges faced by our beloved community.

While we are thankful that the Winery & Villa have weathered the storm, we recognize the devastation all around us, as many have not been as fortunate. The aftermath of Hurricane Helene has brought significant challenges to our charming community, and there is a tremendous need for help and support.

In light of these difficulties, we remain closed until we can regain power and water and it is safe to travel to our beautiful town. •Hurricane Helene Update•
Appalachian Ski Mtn. was very fortunate to have only incurred minimal damage during Hurricane Helene. Our thoughts are with our friends, neighbors, and family who have been impacted by this historic storm. •
We will be shifting focus over the next few weeks on supporting and repairing our community infrastructure and assisting our staff and residents as we all begin the repairing & rebuilding process. •
Our signature Annual Preseason Sale will be rescheduled for Oct. 25 – Nov. 3. We will be donating a portion of sales to relief funds for community members in need. •
Thank you for your understanding and support as we work through this difficult time to ultimately provide everyone with an unforgettable winter experience for 2024-25. Our scheduled opening day is November 22, weather permitting. •
