Download Google Translate! The great thing about this app is it allows you to download languages to be able to use it while not connected to wifi. This way when you are traveling in a country where you aren’t familiar with the language, you’ll have access to a translation app to help you get around and communicate more easily.

Did you know that Colombia is the only country in South America that has coastlines on the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea?

Colombia is known for its coffee and is one of the largest exporters in the world. More than 500,000 families produce coffee in the Coffee Region of Colombia. These producers have been creating sustainable practices for coffee production to protect the environment.

If you’re looking for unique animals, Colombia is a great place to go - you can visit the Amazon rainforest region of Colombia and look for pink dolphins!

Have you been thinking about a trip to Peru to see one of the 7 New World Wonders? While Machu Picchu is the number one site visited in Peru, the country has so many other fascinating places to explore! Here are a few of my suggestions.
•
While Lima is the gateway city for getting to Machu Picchu, we shouldn’t overlook it as a great place to explore. Peru is known for Pisco Sours, a delicious alcoholic beverage, so it might be fun to partake in a Pisco experience. You can visit a local vineyard and learn about the process and production of Pisco.
•
My favorite region of the country, the Sacred Valley, is another area you may want to spend some additional time. Located in the Andean Highlands, this region is full of stunning peaks and valleys and some of the most intricate manmade terraces carved into the sides of the mountains. Quaint villages, lovely people, bright, beautiful hand-made textiles is what makes this region a great stop on your Peruvian adventure.

If you’ve gone this far you might as well tack on a few extra days and head to the Peruvian Amazon! Not many folks make the trek but it is so worth it. Spend a few days in the lush, dense jungle in search of Jaguars, Capybara, Macaws and so much more.

Did you know that the Azores are made up of 9 volcanic islands? These 9 islands are off the coast of Portugal and offer a very different landscape than the mainland.

The Azores are known for their beauty, but they are also known for their delicious food and wine! One of the most popular dishes you’ll find in the Azores is Furnas stew, which is made by burying a pot of meat and vegetables in the fumaroles for 6-7 hours. That’s a long time to wait for a meal, but it is absolutely worth it!

The Azores are a haven for adventurous travelers and nature lovers looking to stay active on vacation. From hiking volcanoes to snorkeling perfectly blue waters to kayaking in quiet coves, there is so much you can see and do while exploring these picturesque islands! Southeast Asia is an area with so many exciting countries that I am dying to get to! One of those destinations is Cambodia, a country full of interesting history, culture and food - my favorite things while traveling.
•
When I think of Cambodia, the first thing that comes to mind is Siem Reap, which is home to one of the largest temples in the world, Angkor Wat. The architecture that has withstood centuries is so beautiful and fascinating to me.
•
Authentic food is something I am always in search of on my travels, and a trip to Cambodia would be no different. I love trying something new, and one dish I have my eye on is Amok - it is traditionally a curry dish made with fish or snails, but now you can find Amok made with chicken or even a vegetarian version.

To help avoid jet lag when traveling, try adjusting your sleep schedule in the days leading up to your flight. Depending on where you are traveling to, try going to sleep earlier or later to adjust to the time zone you’ll be flying to. Make sure you are hydrated during your flight as well!

Is Patagonia on your bucket list? Not sure if you should visit Torres del Paine or El Calafate or both? Start in Buenos Aires or Santiago? There are so many ways to do this trip and there is a right way for everyone, depending on your interests. Send me a message and we can design a trip based on your specific goals. Buenos Aires, Argentina often referred to as the ‘Paris of the South’ is an excellent starting point for any Patagonian adventure. It is a vibrant city, combining European style with South American flair. Explore the colorful neighborhoods, appreciate the renowned architecture, and enjoy the delicious cuisine. ‘Must see’ areas include, Recoleta, Teatro Colon, La Boca Neighborhood, Puerto Madero and of course a Tango experience!

Ushuaia can be an overlooked destination because of how far away it seems, though I highly recommend adding it to your adventure. While it is known as the world’s southernmost city or ‘the end of the world’ it is stunningly beautiful. Tierra del Fuego Island and the Beagle Channel are a must see while here.

El Calafate is located deep in Patagonia’s snow-capped mountains and best known for the spectacular Perito Moreno Glacier – a massive, shifting ice cap composed of dozens of smaller glaciers. Aside from this amazing glacier, El Calafate town has its own highlights that are worth checking out!

Baja California is a destination that has been at the top of my bucket list since I first started in the Travel industry so many years ago. Baja is a beautiful gem along the Pacific Ocean that has a lot to offer.
•
The very first thing I plan on doing in Baja is swimming with whale sharks and sea lions! You are able to get so close to these incredible animals for a truly once in a lifetime experience. The Sea of Cortez is known for its marine life, so along with whale sharks and sea lions, there will plenty more to see while snorkeling.
•
Baja is in a pretty unique place, you have the ocean right there, but also the desert and mountains nearby! How cool to be able hike through the mountains and desert and go take a swim in the ocean right after.

🚨Travel Tip Tuesday🚨

Travel with a First Aid Kit! When traveling, you never know when you might stub a toe hiking and might need a band-aid. Your first aid kit should also have things like aspirin, Benedryl, and tums. These can all come in handy, especially if you are traveling to a remote area without access to shops that might carry these items.

Did you know that Greece has over 6,000 islands and islets? With 227 that are inhabited, this allows so many options for islands to visit other than Greece’s most well-known islands for a more off-the-beaten path style Greek adventure.

Ancient Greece is a huge draw for this beautiful country, with 18 UNESCO World Heritage sites for visitors to experience and learn all about Greece from its ancient history to more modern history.
•
Greece also happens to be one of the most mountainous countries in the world, with around 80% of the country being mountainous. You’ll earn some delicious Greek cuisine after a day exploring hilly cities and towns!
