In the late 20th century, Southerness availed itself as a venerable tournament host. The club has had an active voting female membership since its inception, and has seen the Scottish and British Ladies Championships in its time. The club still bestows an honorary presidential role to Miss Catherine Soames — the granddaughter of Mr. David Keswick who in 1960 saved the land from further development before amicably arranging a rental with the club.  //

Dumfries, a Royal Burgh Since 1186, is a town defined by the River Nith and its various crossings in the Southern Uplands. The town’s manner is embodied by its linksland, where Southerness rumples over wandering dunescape and exposed heath alike. Idyllic and charming, Southerness’s quiet confidence are but a reflection of its surrounding region. //

Etched on the Southern Scottish border overlooking the Solway Firth, Southerness is the rare links without history dating past the 20th century. What the club may lack in age, it more than gains in local charm. In 1947, Major Oswald, a local landowner, was keen to develop the links and enlisted the help of Philip Mackenzie Ross to bestow a post-war creation worthy of the land for residents of nearby Dumfries.   //

From farming to fishing, Nantucket transformed into the Whaling Capital of the World by the 18th century. This prosperity brought the development the opulent homes and cobblestone street. In the 1960’s, a small outfitter located on an island off the coast of Massachusetts created a fabric that would intentionally fade over time to resemble the sails of those scattered boats of Brittany, France. Phillip C. Murray, proprietor of Murray’s Toggery, captured a lifestyle with one color synonymous with island life, summertime and requiescence.

Upcycled from actual Murray’s Toggery trousers, these handcrafted headcovers by Winston Collection will surely patina for years to come. //
